Positive Post Bypass

Recommended Posts

So I figured I'd post post-op bypass. Today is Day 4 Post-op. It went really well. I was in the hospital two nights. Day 1 & 2 I was so nauseated I needed lots of anti emetics! Day 1 I had dilaudid PCA for pain and I think I just pressed it for the fun I it. Thy took down the pain pump day 2 in hospital. I actually have been getting away with minimal Percocet & Tylenol ...but mainly only Tylenol. The gas was horrific. I think I am a little addicted to gas-x (maybe because I like the taste & can't have anything else). I am on liquids...have my intense nalgene (48oz) bottle & am drinking my fluids adequately. SF pops are my buddies and I've been drinking Water & crystal light. As well as my Protein Drinks. It's so crazy how I can only take small sips...my stomach gets mad and I swear my back starts hurting. But so far I am sooo glad I did this. I did this for my health, my confidence, my wife & my future children! I am down 10 lb so far. I even did the Wii a bit today!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
