I tried filet mignon this past weekend, and could only get a few tiny bites in before I was stuffed. I was eyeing my sister's ribeye, which looked much easier to get down (thinner and better cooked). A couple days ago I got some garlic steak from Blazin' Steaks (not sure if that's only a Hawaii thing, or if they have it on the mainland), and it was DEE-LISH-US!! Cooked to perfection, moist and pre-cut for me (I'm so lazy). I ate some for dinner... some for lunch, and will eat the rest for lunch today. It came with rice and toss salad, neither of which I ate (just stared longingly at it for a while...)

Tried a hamburger (minus bun) last night - no go. eggs - same thing. chicken - don't even mention that word to me! That's the one thing I'm pissed about not being able to get down, because pre-surgery, I could eat chicken every single day. Going to try some roast pork with gravy tomorrow for lunch (boss taking us out), and see how that goes. Thankfully, I'm blessed with being able to eat pistachio and macadamia nuts!! Great sources of Protein (especially the pistachio), and very filling.

I actually do much better with beef then chicken. It just has to be soft like ground beef' date=' roast, filet, etc. I am three months out and did have a very lean sirloin steak the other day. It was wonderful. :-)

Toast has been on my OK list for a while but I only eat about half a slice on the weekend with my eggs. I stick to crackers and baked pita chips (they seem to have more Protein in them and fewer carbs).[/quote']

Oh I love pita chips! Didnt know if it was ok to have

Filet mignon remains my favorite. Surgeon advised me to avoid bread forever' date=' if possible, because of high carbs. Thankfully I do not crave bread, but supposedly cravings will return 6 months to one year after surgery. I also find that beef is easier to eat than chicken. But I force myself to eat chicken occasionally simply for diversity.[/quote']

I could eat chicken all day! lol

Pastachio's are my absolute favorite! I got everyone in my family hooked on them and they are really feeling! That garlic steak sounds freaking amazing!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
