Down 60 pounds! YEA

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I cannot believe it has been over three months since my surgery. I am down 60 pounds overall from 275 and down 48 from surgery. My loss has been pretty steady, on the slow side, but I am OK with that since it keeps coming off. I have had some gains here and there but they don't last. My exercising is getting better. I am walking every day before work. It is not a lot but at least it is better than nothing. I am down from a 22/24 to a 14/16. Just bought some new clothes for work. I was lucky to have some horded away from before. I do get depressed some days, looking for more weight loss, missing certain foods, etc. but this is the best decision I have ever made. When I get down I go look at my size 14 jeans LOL.

I am turning 41 tomorrow and I am not unhappy this year the way I was last year about my weight. It is a LONG AND HARD road but it gets easier every day. I try not to think about the future and take it one day at a time.

I wrote on MFP that I carried a 50 pound bag of salt up the basement steps last week and that was struggle. Then is dawned on me that I was carrying that weight around and more. My highest weight in 1/2011 was 298. That was a real shocker to me!

For the pre-op folks out there: It is worth it. If I can do this you can too. :D

Congrats! I'm down 60 pounds too! It feels great doesn't it. Seeing the pounds coming off also keep me motivated. I can't wait to reach my goal weight. I haven't gone shopping for clothes yet but I am going to have to soon to keep my jeans from falling off, LOL.

This is definitely a long and hard road but it is well worth it.

Best of Luck!

Mari

What a great entry for us in pre op still! Happy birthday, you should be very proud of your accomplishments! That's a fantastic idea to carry 50lbs--really shows you now much weight you were carrying around and how your joints felt lol.

Best of luck for continued success and weight loss!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
