That Scale is the Devil! >_<

Recommended Posts

So I've been using the scale thats non digital' date=' you know the one that goes around lol, and I've never been too sure that it was 100% accurate but I was going by it anyway...so yesterday I weighed myself and it was 259....so I was so happy because I thought I was losing because at my 2 week post op check up I weighed 271...well today I got on a digital scale and it read out 265.2 and I weighed myself five times...so that means in 5 weeks I've lost 29 pounds....So guys what was your average weight loss by the 5th week? I know everyone is different and Im not comparing just wondering if Im average or below...and don't get me wrong Im happy for each and every one of those pounds that I've lost because theres no way in h*ll I would have been able to lose it on my own! I also know that this is only the beginning and if I continue to utilize my tool correctly I will be satisfied with my results and I have to be patient but that damn scale lol Im putting it away because it has taken over my life![/quote']

Don't weigh every day. Try once a week. We have Water weight and also Constipation can affect your weight loss as well. I was weighing everyday and it will drive you insane. Lol

I lost no weight on a one-month pre-opliquid diet. All of my weight loss started two weeks after surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
