April Dates

Is it too early to start an April thread? I didn't see one yet.

I'm scheduled for April 22. I still have to finish PCP clearance and psych then insurance approval but don't anticipate any problems. Once I started my appointments the excitement and anxiety kicked in. I started 6 month supervised diet in August....this used to seem so far away and like a vague idea but its so real now. My anxiety is double as my husband's date is march 18 and I worry a lot more about him than myself. How are all the other April folks doing?

I have two weeks also, I'm on 3 shakes a day with a low fat high protein dinner. It honestly hasn't been that bad. I keep myself distracted with tedious crafts or planning in my down time. I've also been going to bed earlier to keep my self from late night snacking. This is nothing compared to how I was when I quit smoking. That was a nightmare on wheels.

Wow, so many have to do the two week pre op diet? I only have to diet 3 days before surgery??? Just goes to show how different doctors are. Still trying to decide what i want my last meal to be...

Love being home! I feel pretty great! I had a rough time right after surgery- kept throwing up- but since there was nothing to throw up it was dry heaves/convulsions. Several IV's of Zofran, nausea patch and everything they could give me- the nausea finally subsided! They kept me one night extra in the hospital but I was released today! I've managed to walk off most of the has pains and the gas ex strips that you let melt on your tongue have been awesome! My incisions are starting to itch but other than that I feel awesome!! I've been drinking (sipping) on my isopure and water and was completely full after eating 1/4 of a slice of cheese!

So glad you are home safe and sound. That must feel really weird being full on such a small amount. Walk and sip, walk and sip, walk and sip.....

At least you get to eat some kind of food mine is all liquid for 2 weeks

Mine was all liquids too, and it was really tough!! I did have a few bites of food though. Out of all 14 days, I had about 3 bites of chicken and a few shrimp, and a piece of deli turkey. I was STARVING! You are lucky you get to have real food during your pre-op. Best of luck :-)

Eeep, that has gotta suck. But It's only for two weeks, then it'll be surgery time. I'm so excited I can't stand it! 10 more days. :)

Just do as your surgeon directed, and everything should be okay. :)

Good luck everyone who goes under today. You will do just fine.

How are you doing Wendilou? Are you managing postop okay? I have been thinking about you because I haven't seen you post lately.

Thanks for asking, Mel! I'm really doing very well. I was able to stop taking my pain meds yesterday. I still have a tiny amount of abdominal discomfort, but it's very manageable. I am struggling with the clear liquid diet though. I am so sick of broth!!! And I have another week to go on clears unfortunately. I have no trouble drinking my 64 oz. daily though.
