April Dates

Is it too early to start an April thread? I didn't see one yet.

I'm scheduled for April 22. I still have to finish PCP clearance and psych then insurance approval but don't anticipate any problems. Once I started my appointments the excitement and anxiety kicked in. I started 6 month supervised diet in August....this used to seem so far away and like a vague idea but its so real now. My anxiety is double as my husband's date is march 18 and I worry a lot more about him than myself. How are all the other April folks doing?

Ok so i think my dr is checking to see if i will have a heart attack or to make sure i REALLY want the bypass ...after being devastated crying hysterical running out the door with my 2 yr old to drive an hr away to see him he agrees now to do tge surgery on tuesday i guess it was a miscommunication with his staff and the pulmonologist office

Im glad its back on I felt bad for you we go thru alot to have this surgery its not a spur of the moment thing we tie are life around this

Omg...I'm freaking out! I just picked up my Optifast and I start it on Monday...Super excited and nervous!

I had my surgery on April 8th (Monday). I am still pretty sore but I feel much better with each day that passes. It is the weirdest sensation to realize that you haven't had to eat anything to be satisfied. I have had to set a alarm on my phone to remind myself to drink. Not hungry at all. I have had a few popsicles and some jello but broth just doesn't sound appetizing at all yet. Taking my medication is by far the worst part of it all. It just tastes nasty to swallow those crushed pills and gross liquids.

I TOTALLY know what you mean. My surgery was on the 8th also. Like you i feel taking the meds is the worst. Just to here the word "broth" turns my stomach. Yuck! I am also very sensitive to all types of smells. It reminds me of pregnancy:-P

All in all surgery this morning went great! I've been battling with really bad nausea and have been dry heaving so now I'm extra super sore. The gas is the worst part though. I walk in my room as much as possible - they don't want me walking because of the dry heaves every time stand up :-( have only had to take pain meds once though :-) I get to go home tomorrow afternoon :-)

I've had a hard time peeing too! But when I do pee, boy does it flow!!! Lol sorry for TMI :-)

No i wish i had tmi lol i was very hydrated before surgery. I lost count on how many bags of fluids I've had. Also i never once filled up my catheter bag. So my bladder ultrasound said it was only 50% full so my body must be absorbing all this fluids.
