Fabulous February Post-Op's

Recommended Posts

Okay so I made sure I ate 3 meals today. I got all my Protein in and all my fluids. I deep cleaned house today and worked up a good sweat so that was my exercise. I am hitting the gym again in the am. I need to figure out something new and fun to do cause I am bored with the tread mill. I am trying to prepare for the dirty girl mud run in April. I am very excited about doing it! It is a 5k I believe.

So I just got out of the shower and realized the drain was clogged because of my hair :( I think the falling out process is kicking in. I credit this to last week of not eating properly. Luckily I have really thick hair so hopefully it wont be to bad or continue since I am back on track.

Ok so today is day 9 after my surgery and I'm on the full liquid phase. I tried a protien shake with skim milk but couldn't drink more than an ounce of it? Has anyone else had an issue with drinking protien shakes? Should I try mixing it with Water instead?

I definitely mix my shakes with water, and I water them down a bit more than the instructions call for. Then sip, sip, sip...

I can't do the thick snotty shakes either, I've tried several post-op and gag and gag....it's crazy!!! I'm living off the Syntrax Nectars, I dilute them a lot then add a crystal light packet to cover the Protein taste....they aren't perfect but much better than the shakes.< /p>

Ivebeen taking extra strength Tylenol tablets since a few days post-op without any problem....ask your doc but as long as they aren't enormous or slow/delayed release you are likely okay!

I ever thought the highlight of my day would be pooping....makes me feel like I've accomplished something major :D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
