I need encouragement and motivation! !

Recommended Posts

I had my rny in August 201 I need encouragement now. I was 265, and I went down to 152lbs (july 12). N ow, as of jan 30th I am at 160lbs...I binge on crap I kno im not supposed to eat because I have no self control, afterwards I feel bad. I want to work out but I have no motivation. ...I just need encouragement pands support. .. its hard as you get further post op because the hunger comes back and you find that you can get away with eating the regular foods. I don't ever want to be 265 again. But I feel like my mind is not strong enough to resist my temptations for junk food and ill never get motivated to eat right and exercise. ...I want to badly.

Im 2weeks post op and I got my rny through Kaiser Permanente. Had to do a 6 mos program 12 classes total one of which talked about the "reasons" we over eat...they offer counseling/dietician/support group for 1 1/2 year post op...to help us through these struggles. ..do you have anything similar to this offered to you? ? Sometimes emotional issues can make us eat...perhaps might help you to seek counseling perhaps go to a support group in your area. ..just a thought. :)

Danni, I ten weeks out and already I am hungry and have a cast Iron stomach. I can eat about anything which is good now but will be bad for me down the road. You are an inspiration to me since I was about 263 on my surgery date. So I know it can be done.

I also know that eventually I am going to have to get help because I am weak and struggle with exercise. I know I have to take it one day, even one meal at a time. I know you are frustrated but it is only 8 pounds. Go back to basics and start adding in better habits slowly. Increase Water for a few days, then increase your Protein, then cut back on carbs.

I know (even before RNY) I had to weigh myself often and write down what I eat or I go off plan. A lot of us us My Fitness Pal and we support each other there too. I'm worm2872

Good luck! You can do this. Rem. RNY is a tool and you used that tool to lose over 100 pounds!! You had the power to do that. You have the power to get back on track. Good luck

Anna I have tri care, ill look into that. If my doc refers me to see a counselor then im sure they will pay. I know its emotional eating....I do it when im stressed or when my hubby leaves- he is Airforce. But I stepped up and worked out today. ..it felt good but then I ate icecream and a brownie afterwards. I have had no luck finding support groups but ill keep looking. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! My whole life I went from big to small, big to small and I just want to remain small! I hate basic exercise, I used to do zumba and pole fitness and it worked and I loved it but we just moved to a diff state so im having troubles adjusting and findinga place that offers those kinds of work outs. I have myfitnesspal, I will re download the app and add you!

And you definitely can and will lose all your weight! Just stay positive and on track...it will be done. We all will be successful...we have been given a great opportunity! We need to hold on to it! :)

There are zumba "games" for Wii and Xbox. It's not as good as a real class, but they are pretty good! When I want to eat something "bad". I look up the calories (I track everything on Lose it!). Then I evaluate whether the calories are worth the taste. For example, Cinnabon cinnamon rolls are over 1000 calories each! I can't bring myself to even take a bite! Really think about everything you put in your body! I'm sure you will succeed! Look how far you've come!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
