Maybe someone can answer this for me. Well I'm finishing up all the requirements that had to be completed for my insurance to cover surgery. My husband has to have back surgery soon and I know after my surgery I can't pick up my 2yr old for like a month and my husband can't for longer than that. So my question is does anyone know when everything will expire like the psych visit, seminar, 6 month weight class & dietician visits? I really didn't want to come this far to have do everything all over again but my husband needs his surgery first because of severe pain. I'm healthy and not in pain just overweight

I have gone through all of this pre op testing already twice. (Was denied twice by insurance) I was told I have to start over from scratch now because its been more than two years.

Sent with kindness and support for everyone's journey.

My surgery was November 15th, I am a stay at home mom to 3 girls, 6, 4, and at the time 20 months. I was picking the baby up by day 4 and driving by day 5 post op. So you may not be out of commission for a month. I believe most of it, minus the blood work is good for a year, but that would be a question your surgeon and or insurance customer service rep can answer.

Hope hubby's surgery goes well!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
