mystery pain, need help.

Recommended Posts

I am six months post op. On my left side, beside my belly button, I.have this.regular pain where if something touches it or swiped it,it hurts. It also feels like sometimes there is a kick of pain. My doctor said it could be gas but I do not believe that since it is a pain when it is touched. When I press on it it is fine though so I'm just confused. Does anyone have a clue or idea of what this is and what's causing it? I didn't have this until about a month ago fyi.

My first thought was female pain. Maybe your ovaries.

It's not low enough for that and for sure a different type of pain. It frustrated and bothers me that I don't know what's causing it and I just hope it isn't something serious.

Sounds like nerve pain.

Or maybe residual scar tissue?

Is there anything to worry about then if it is nerve pain or scar tissue? And nerve pain seems like a good answer since it still is numb-like in that spot too.

My daughter had surgery on her leg a few years ago and has residual nerve pain. Nothing to worry about, just annoying. She scratches her leg and feels it in her toe! You can try massaging the area and that may help some.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
