I'm a newbie from MO

Hello, everyone. My name is Gene and I am currently waiting for my surgery date. I'm with Dr. Malley in KS and my surgery will be at Menorah Medical Center. I'm a 51 year old grandma currently weighing 371 and wanting to get down to 175. My grandchildren are 18 months and 3 months old and I want to be able to do things with them like take them to the park and to the pool - all the things that I can't do now because I'm an elephant! Thanks to TracyinKS for sending me over here so I can chat with fellow bandsters about our life-changing event!

Gene:)

Welcome to LBT....I'm totally addicted to this website! I live about 50 miles south of K.C. (Archie) and Dr. Malley did my surgery on January 18th at Menorah! If you have any questions just ask away.....sometimes it takes a while but you can always get an answer from someone.

Hi Gene, welcome to lapband talk forum. I hear you when you say elephant. My top weight was 320 and I'm down to 239.5 today. I have lost just a little bit over 40 lbs since being banded. I lost a ton more prior to surgery. I look a lot better in a bathing suit already but one of my goals is to really look good in one. Congrats to you. Keep the faith. Lapband is wonderful.

Welcome, Gene

I'm with Dr. Malley also. Getting banded next Thursday. This board is a great resource. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Sharon

GLAD TO SEE YOU OVER HERE GENE!!!!!

Read, Read, Read..... this place is great! I especially like the post op checklist of things to have prior to surgery... LIKE GAS-X melt on your tongue strips.. it is posted on my fridge and I've been checking things off as I get them.

OH... and since you are also waiting on a date for Menorah.. we MIGHT JUST BE BAND SISTERS! I am also waiting for Nikki to call me TOMORROW with my date. Darlene told me that she does all her scheduling on Thursdays.......... Cross your fingers that we find out.. I will be posting AS SOON as I get the call!
