Which shashimi has the mildest flavor? I'm usually a roll/nigiri girl... but know I'll have to skip the rice for now. What do y'all recommend?

I love love love salmon sashimi....and scallops... but its personal preference.

I'm a month and a half out. Just curious if anyone had tried sushi' date=' it was a huge part of my diet before surgery and I can't tell you how bad I miss it, I've been invited out with my friends and boyfriend to go to this awesome sushi place in town, just looking for advice before I do anything that might backfire. I have no problem not eating if its going to hurt me in anyway, but if it won't, maybe a timeline as to when I might be able to eat it again?[/quote']

There's nothing in sushi you cannot have other than the rice. Some places you can request it without rice or even order a hand roll without rice which is cheaper and the perfect size for us. I always get the "well it'll fall apart" crap from them but who cares, it all goes down the same.

Is sashimi just cut up fish? Because I've never had it

Raw fish is pretty tough to digest. I'd think you have to be farther out for it. I like the sweet shrimp.

Good info to know. I to am missing sushi big time and chicken Pad Thai. I can live without the Pad Thai since it's mainly noodles. But sushi is something I def am missing. Dec 4th was my date and will probably give it a try in March which will be 3 months out.

Anyone here shop at Wegmans and hit up the Sushi bar. Just wondering if anything will work from there. I do know they have sashimi.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
