Yes I think it is perfectly normal. You will go through a flood of different emotions... Hang in there. Tomorrow will be a whole lot better.

I have been the same way, i am on a emotional rollar coaster right now. losing my job last week. have root canal surgery friday morning, first preop appt on the 20th and the surgery the 31st. I have been flooding the tears, just like my eyes have sprung a leak. i know i am stronger then this. but I know i am making great choices in my life. but my heart is saying differently. i am not eating very much, i am sleeping too much. i walk around in a cloud. yall are the only ones i can talk to. i cant show my weakness to my husband or my son. they think i am the all powerful OZ. pretty much. but I am so weak right now.

I got my date just a few weeks ago. Been crying at the drop of a hat lately. I'm like a raw nerve. I am even having trouble focusing right now. Fortunately, my closest friend is a therapist. She keeps a good eye on me.

Thank you all for the kind words! My surgery is the 19th next Wednesday. I think I'm having doubts but I know it will be worth it. It's all happening so fast!

Doubts? I am terrified, but not sure of what...the surgery? Not being what I have always thought of myself to be? It's uncharted territory for me, anyway.

I dont think its doubts I am having, maybe I am mourning the onlly friend who ever comforted me, (food) but like a parent that has passed away just have to mourn it and move on best you can, and what they would want you to do. maybe I should increase my anti depressants a little, i will ask my doc

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
