My weight loss is not just slow ITs stopped. I'm trying not to complain and push through, but I'm getting so depressed. I don't want to fall back to crazy diet schemes but my mind it telling me to do or try some drastic. I'm coming up on 1 ur anniversary and I'm failing to reach my goal.

Well apparently I wasn't eating enough. At 8 weeks post op I was still only eating 1oz of food per meal! My nut told me I was eating too little and that can stall my weightloss. So she told me to up my Protein to 2oz per meal and try to eat at least 1 Tbsp. veggies... I think I was just scared to up my food intake because I didn't want to hurt or stretch my pouch!! Hope this helps break my plataue! She said with only eating that small amount 3xday then burning over 200 calories a day, plus strength training every other day my body wasn't getting enough fuel and I was putting myself into starvation mode. I wander if that's also why I have been feeling dizzy ??

I've been slowing Dow as well at 10 weeks now. Eating between 500-700 calories 60 Protein. I would get dizzy as well. My doc upped me to 1000 calories today so I hope that helps... Good luck to you!

I don't know if I'm eating to little or to much or is it because I don't need to lose a great deal overal? My Fluid intake is quite poor also. Please can any one help???

Annette, Fluid and Protein are a must when it comes to loosing the weight! Try try try to get in at least 64oz of liquids a day( can include Jello, pudding, Soup etc.) and make sure you are getting at least 80g protein. If you are not exercising you need to start walking at a brisk pace to get your heart rate up 30 minutes daily! If you are exercising try to increase your minutes and speed... I also strength train every other day and we al know muscle weighs more than fat so it may look like your not loosing when indeed you are trading fat for muscle. If you had less to loose like under 100lbs. It WILL take you longer to loose than someone who has like 150 or more to loose. Just don't get discouraged and keep doing what the dr tells you to do! It WILL come off!!!

Hi thx for replying, today I'm going to order some Protein Drinks I don't like them very much but don't know how to get the amount in in one day without them, I used to love egg but now just doesn't taste right. As for Fluid that's a lot to consume but I'm going to try my best and get off my bum and do some exercise. I only want to lose between 70 and 84 lb at the most so maybe why it's slower as you said. Thanks for your help xxx

The best thing I've learned...our journey is our own. Don't be so hard on yourself cause you are doing great!! I do see where some people post about certain surgeons having expectations. Thankfully I've never been pressured with that. My facility told me they don't become concerned until 6 months post as people lose differently. We all lose and respond differently. I gained coming home from the hospital and my 1st month loss was prob 20lbs. I noticed there were a lot of slow weeks and months but it does add up. Pictures are a great way of reminding yourself of progress. Often I had to look back on my progress pics to show myself I had moved forward. I think you are doing great. Follow the program and it will work. We are here for u anytime u get discouraged.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
