Stupid iPhone. Anyway I know I'm getting better, but my pouch is noisy and the shoulder pain won't go away and every time I take a pill it's like dropping a brick in my pouch. Then I have to go lie down. How long til I can expect it to stop hurting like a mo fo?

I'm 6 days post op and find that every day I feel just a little bit better. I actually felt worse on days 2 and 3 due to increased swelling post surgery. But on day 4 the swelling started to go down. I'm still in some pain on day 6 and for that reason am proactively taking pain medication, not just waiting for pain to set in. I find it very hard to move around - got get up/out of the bed or a chair. All movements have to be very slow. Other than that, I seem to be okay. I'm assuming that this soreness will decrease every day.

Im 8 months post op and believe me it does get better with each day, I proimise :) I had surgery on a Monday and was back to work the following monday. I am a big baby when it comes to pain.... I can't handle any pain what so ever. The only thing that lasted a bit longer was the shoulder pain which was from the gas. But once you get moving around and take lots of walks you feel better.

Thanks all. I had a terrified moment this evening when I ate 2 bites of banana. Baby tummy was not impressed, it spiked pain. I don't think it was dumping, but it knocked me down.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
