How much can you eat? I think I'm a freak or in trouble. I'm six weeks out and can eat a half a cup of food probably more but i stop myself and measure. Is this normal?

i am almost 6 weeks and I cant get 1/2 cup down at one sitting yet! I get so frustrated. I dont know why I let it bother me cuz I am not "hungry" but it drives me crazy cuz it just doesnt seem like enough.

I was wondering about salads. Too scared to even try it. Any issues?

I agree! I wish someone would make me a designated meal plan! Of course since we are all different' date=' it isnt that easy, but that sure would help. I have a hard time figuring out what "regular" food to eat.[/quote']

ya,i just keep eating the same things lol..haven't had any variety...i might try a hamburger minus the bun tomorrow...i can'T get bread down yet..I've tried pita bread and that goes down and no problems with a soft tortilla

In my last class last week she even suggested having your hamburger run thru the grinder again at the store when you buy it

I've had red meat. Not a lot and chewed really well. I'm hoping to get released to regular foods on Wednesday. Salads still scare me.

I am able to eat more and more every day. It scares me. But I think that it means that our stomachs are healing. We are supposed to be able to eat more over time. I ate pot roast and mashed potatoes and was shocked that I could eat more than usual. I am going to follow the principle of Protein first.

That's about a normal amount for me..depends on what I eat...some textures fill up faster than others...say I can typically eat 2chix wings and maybe atbs of potatoes at once' date=' or 1egg and 1 1/2 sausage link..scrambled egg I can barely eat the whole thing but fried I have no problem....i don't always measure...i can feel my limit.....[/quote']

I are three poached eggs - no pain, no discomfort - and I am wondering if that is normal.

I eat steak and pot roast - but I chew everything very well. I am trying to eat a lot of beef to get my Iron level back to normal

It's all so weird... I looked at my nutrition guide this morning and it stated I won't be on regular foods until month 4. I think I can handle that. I am in no rush for a salad right now.

I thought it was a bit early for me to start reg food but so far so good...salad is really the only new thing I've tried.

I just mix tuna with about a teaspoon of mayo and a tablespoon or so of Greek yogurt. Salt and pepper, chopped onions and chopped dill pickles. I have to say though, I swallowed a piece of cucumber last night without chewing it enough. It got stuck and everything came up. Just remember to chew, chew, chew!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
