I took the full four weeks and had to add another due to the logistics for follow up appointments. My husband is having his surgery tomorrow morning. I need the time to just get into the swing of taking care of myself in this new fashion! I either get all my Protein in or all my water' date=' but have yet to do both. Vitamins are a work in process![/quote']

I agree with you on the Water and protein, I'm getting better at it, but at least I'm getting all of my vitamins in though.

SD: 10/10/12, Converted from Lapband to RNY, HW (before band) 263, HW (RNY) 230, Preop 219, after surgery 223, current 209

Just talked with my doctors nurse! I get to start working couple hours a day from home till full release at 3 weeks post op! I'm excited! Now I can "sip while I work"! Today is one week post-op and I feel really good--last 2 days I've gotten all my hydration in and consistently get 60 protein-she said that's prob why I'm feeling good. Been very blessed so far-no nausea and sipping is easy--hope he didn't leave my pouch too big lol

My surgery was 10/9. Everything has healed up wonderfully. I still have pain on my left side but my doctor said that would be normal. I just can't seem to get enough Water and Proteins in. Physically I'm good after surgery but mentally I wish I'd never had this done. I cry several times a day and feel very alone even though I have a wonderful husband supporting me. food was my go to when I was sad and stressed. Now I just don't know what to do. It's like I have no motivation and all I want to do us stay in the house and never come back out. What do I do??

Glad everything went well as far as your surgery update.

As for your crying and feeling stressed, maybe you should see if your insurance has the plan where you can talk to a therapist, so matters won't get worse. Hope everything gets better. Remember we're here.

I'm glad that you are doing well. If you always have something with you to drink you should be ok on water. Unjury makes an unflavored Protein Powder that is super easy to mix in anything you are eating.

Now you have to work on your brain, instead of going to food, you are going to have to find a different outlet. That can be anything, sewing, scrap booking, walking, anything! The surgery was a tool for us, now it is up to us to reroute our way of thinking. Now instead of eating when I feel sad, I grab the dogs and family and we go for a walk. So stones I just play a silly game on my iPad to pass the time if I'm thinking about a piece of chocolate cake.

Hope this helps! It will get better, I promise!!

Hi, you pick yourself up and brush yourself, and make it do what it do hun. You're going to have a new body and new life. You're going to be able to do things you haven't done in a long time. I say that to say this, if you were happy with ur self you would not have changed it. Think of the long term ur special and ur husband realize that, that's why he supports you because u are worth it..I really hope you sit and think on a more positive note. We are here if you need us, and most of all God got you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
