October Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody! Morning after surgery. Was going to post yesterday but got tired and forgot.

Everything was text book says my surgeon. I was in pretty good pain when I first woke up in recovery. They drugged me up. I was using morphine for the first few hours. Then I went from noon until 930 without pain meds. Doped up just in case before bed. Woke up at 4 figure I needed to walk more. Some pain this morning about to go back to sleep. Gas pain is really not that bad, but I have a decent pain tolerance. Other than that I am ready for a drink after my test this morning. The sponge on a stick is a life saver to moisten your mouth when it's dry! Sounds bad I know but that little dude has been my buddy.hope everyone else is doing good.

Hi just wanted to see if any other doctors have required you to go off birth control pills. I have to take it for my bad endometreosis . Anyone else told to stop taking the pill?

I have had a very abnormal cycle of heave bleeding and clotting. I went to the ER and got an IV they also have me birth control pills. I took them for one day only and didn't take the rest because I know they give you blood clots and I don't want to take the chance.

How long before your RNY date were you told to stop taking your pills?

Yes' date=' Yes, Yes!!! My date is Oct. 15, 2012!!! I've waited for this date since 2009. Now that I have a date for my RNY I have been cleaning house, refridorator, cabinets, discarding all old paper and crap that I don't want or need any more. I think I'm purging the old to make room for the new life that I'm praying and expecting. I'm looking at ordering my vitimans, Protein Drinks and picking up few jars of organic baby food from Whole Foods. No one knows about my sergery yet and I don't plan on telling anyone, the guy that I'm dateing will only know that I need him to pick me up from the hospital after I'm discharged but, he won't know why. lol I'm just being very private about it for now, there are a bunch of worrie worts around me and I don't need that stress. I'm counting down the days, and still have a lot to do in pre-op testing and last group nutrition appointment so we are off to a great start! I'm happy and ready! Best of luck to all of you having RNY this month!!![/quote']

I am hoping to have my date last of october. I am supposed to find out after my endoscopsy on the 12th. The only thing that will stop me is that they just became an excellence center and I might have to wait that out. Keep me in your prayers.

It is so awesome to read the post op girl's stories! I am very anxious and they give me hope that I too will be on the losers side very shortly! I have done the liquid diet for 7 days (I can eat 700 cal light dinner) Which I am not hungry for. I think its my nerves and I just want to be skinny. :) I have my preop appointment, another dietary meeting, and meet wtih the surgeon one last time prior to surgery on tuesday and surgery Friday the 12th. Getting closer and closer!! I am unsure of what they all do for the preop testing??

Dieting period is hard when you have the family too. Grocery shopping especially. And more expensive. Buy for them buy for us. My biggest pet peeve is buying two separate cans of coffee when it is so expensive and noticed today the price on coffee went up to boot!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
