Good Morning,

Oh Beanie that sucks, I have heard horror stories on the news about people waiting at the airports. Geeze louise. Can you fly to like florida and then take plane to texas? something like that? how about going to newark air port or (whiteplains) stewart airport about 20 minutes from your work?

Dianne good to see you. Congrats on the Date !!!! whoot ;)

Darcy glad your parts came in and you did the WATP video. I'm so proud of you for training for the marathon... WTG !!!

Cindy, we went out the other night for only 1/2 hr. It was so dang cold that my fingertips went numb and had that burning feeling.... yep its cold up here LOL. But if you do it right, like a 1/2 hr of fresh air, is good for yah...beats being inside w/all the germs LOL. What I don't understand is people who jog in 50 mph winds with a temperature of 8 degrees???? that is nuts to me but WTF do I know LOL. Whats it doing down by you?

Betty..... dang its cold here to lol

Pat, Chrispy, Mary, Sherry, Kat, Mandy, Patty (((we miss you))), Anne...and the rest of you beauties :)

Have a good weekend :clap2:

Good Morning Y'all!

Well, the temps are starting to climb up again!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: We are actually going to be close to 70 next week! I love it!

Just got home from the shopping and running erands, now I have to start doing something in the house. I hope to get some of it done today, I know when DH gets home he will want to go do something and I won't get anything done! Maybe I will say screw it and just go get a shower and cleaned up so I will not have to go looking like a bum!:) :) :)

I am still having trouble with my neck, but I think it is a lot better today. I did good last night sleeping for the first night in a while, the night before I actually had to use my hand to lift my head up and it hurt like hell!

I know I said I would catch up on personals today, but now I can't remember who said what! Dang!

I do remember Beanie saying she was stranded in the airport, hope you get a flight out soon! By the way, I started the warming trend for you!

So, Hello to all of you! I'll be better in the future I promise. It's just by the time I go check out the crapy threads I have run out of time for posting!

Later!

Hi everyone!!

Betty I'm sorry to hear about your neck! I'm not sure what's going on with this board but we sure do have a lot of aches/pains and illnesses! lol. Feel better soon! :)

Dianne - congrats on your date!!!! The reduction was the BEST thing I ever did for myself. I have never, ever regretted it.

Darcy, oh Darcy. The dating game is going great. I had three dates last week, got flowers from two of the, and have already cut one of the guys lose. I am a little smitten with one guy - he's a bad boy, tattoo sleeve and all (Mandy would be proud! lol). But he is soooo sweet, very attentive, and we communicate very well. I'm trying not to get carried away and rush into anything, right Sherry? lol

So, I did tell my date (tattoo boy) about my band last night. He is very open and honest and we spoke about a lot of important things last night, so I decided to bring it up. He said it didn't bother him, but when I spoke with him this morning he had done a ton of research on the internet. He said he understood the scientific part of things, and had some questions for me about lifestyle changes and what kind of pre-op and post-op programs were involved. He said he was glad to know, because he wants to help me succeed with it rather than be forcing food/drinks down my throat without knowing about it. lol. I asked him if it made him think any different of me, and his answer was no, but I still feel like he may be a little skeptical about the band. But at the end of the day I'm glad I told him. How he handles this moving forward will speak a lot about his character I think.

Chrispy, some of the sweetest guys I know have tattoos....my hubby included. I'm glad that you were able to talk to him about it and he was open to it. Hope things go well with him, remember the band is new to his mind, he might have tons of questions. That means he really wants to know more, not that he has doubts. My hubby still asks questions about my band, and just got the watch a fill for the first time ever. It's a learning process for those that don't have a band. ~Mandy

I'm glad you had a good time Chris and I'm sure he will have lots of questions about the band and probably watch what you're eating for a bit but, you know nothing wrong with that. At least later on while dating if he picks a place that has food thats just too hard to eat he'll understand more when you suggest something else. Nothing wrong with that and I think you did well by telling him. Heck...this piece of plastic and tubing is now a part of ya so he's gotta take the the whole package. I think it's a good sign that he looked it up online. Means he is interested and cares enough to look :)

Nothing wrong with tattoos in my book heh heh. Wouldn't mind if John got a few more :)

Chrispy-What size did you go to if you don't mind me asking? I'm having the fears of being to small now. Sounds like the tattoo boy is real nice and supportive that's great.

Beanie-OH no stuck in an airport how horrible!!

Betty- I hope the neck feels better.

I haven't had time to catch up..sorry guys...

I'm feeling really losey today. Achie, tired, cold, urgh, FIL isn't feeling well and he just fell. Garry is going out of town on Monday so I told him no matter what he is taking FIL to Dr tomorrow. Herbert (FIL) got cold today when we went to Wendy's and he was shaking uncontrollably and then his hands were purple and the middle of his face was purple. Garry keeps saying lets wait and see! URGH how frustrating! So we may be having a big fight in the morning about him taking him but TO BAD. I can't be left home alone with an 86 yr old man worrying about him falling and getting sicker! Can you hear my frustration!!!

Well I'm going to either jump in the hot tub to get warm f the bath tub in a bit. Have a good night.

Hey All...

Okay... Irene... I bet you had your personal assistant with you right now. I sure hope you got out of there and if not... I sure hope you find a way to enjoy yourself despite the absence of your P.A. :)

Eileen... Thanks shweetie! Ya wanna come here the end of September and do the halfer with me???? :)

Dianne... I'm glad to see your post and hang in there! I know my Mom wishes often that she had been brave enough to get a reduction. She didn't pass the BB gene on to me so I guess I am lucky. :)

Chris... Awesome... keep those boys sending those flowers! If you are enjoying the dating then it is my suggestion that you take your time and check out all of the different varieties of fruit in produce section. :) We all love a bad boy with a sensative side... I think it is in every woman's genetic make-up. I however found that a good boys come with or without tattoos.

SHerry... Did you get my PM??? :) Thanks again for being such a supportive friend. (((hugs)))

Betty... Glad your temps are headed upwards. It was actually pretty pleasant today here... it was in the 20's...lol.

Spent the day with my sister... we watched taped quitling shows and Oprah's show on The Secret... it was awesome... perhaps even life changing. We gabbed all day while the boys were out ice fishing. It cost them 50 bucks a piece and out of 5 men and 3 boys they came home with one trout...lol. I haven't the foggiest how to cook trout so will be browsing the internet. Old Bessie is worse off than ever...lol... I took her for a spin this morning and she only made it 2.75 miles before she shut off on me and it smelled like I was going to burn the house down. LOL

Luv Ya's

Darcy - The Secret is AWESOME. I own the DVD and it's great to pop it in once in a while for a booster shot so to speak. I did get your PM :) thank you very much and I appreciate your words as well.

If anyone hasn't watched The Secret...I highly recommend it at least once. It's amazing...truly is.

Here is the link to check it out:

http://thesecret.tv/home.html

you can rent and watch it on your computer monitor for $5 and if you decide to buy the DVD they take the $5 off the price of the DVD. I think it's well worth watching.

The saying at the end of my signature came from watching that DVD.

Wow. There is nothing like travelling to make you truly appreciate the joys of home.

After a 3 hour nap at the hotel, we headed back to the airport at 4 am. We figured if we had any change to get on a flight at all, it would have to be the flight at 6am.

That flight had 80 people on the standby list. We had been bumped BACK to 49-50 range. It was looking pretty bad for us to get home.

We had already called ALL the airlines at ALL the airports. Nobody had any flights out. But after two flights went by with oversold or only 2 standby people getting on, we tried again.

This time we were able to get confirmed seats on a flight from Raleigh (yes, Raleigh) to Dallas. We booked those and tried to get standby on a flight to Raleigh. Since it was only 9:00 when we booked the seats, we figured we had a shot at making it to Raleigh by the 5:30 pm flight.

So, we didn't get on the 9am flight, we didn't get the 10:30 flight and we were starting to despair, when they called us up the the desk. They had opened up a completely NEW flight to Raleigh connecting thru Dulles in DC, and we would get there in time for our flight~!!!

If you had told me last week that I would be DANCING over a flight home with 2 layovers, I would have LAUGHED IN YOUR FACE. I am soooooo glad to be home.

There is nothing like a shower with Water pressure... lounging in the WARM sun of my garden room and drinking coffee with my most beloved DH. *sigh*.

Dianne - Hi Hon! Good to see you. Don't stress about catching up. Just start today and move forward. If FIL is shaky and purple, that fight is one you HAVE To win. Get that man to a Dr. asap. MAYBE it's nothing - but it hardly sounds that way. HUGS!

Betty - THANK YOU! I am realling loving 65 degrees this morning. I hope your neck feels better soon. I can recommend chiropractic help for this. I remember the sports medicine people being life savers when I had whiplash.

Chrispy - Tattoos are OK! My DH has a couple and he has always wanted one of those sleeves. Trust me, there ain't one thing wrong with tattoo'd bad boys. Mmmm. Not one thing. Did I mention it is GOOD to me home? :)

Mandy - My DH is pretty sweet, too. You never would have guessed from looking when I met him. He had tattoos, earrings and an overall MEAN look. I only dated him cause I wanted to have a wild fling with someone COMEPLETLY different from the mamby pamby white bread boy I had just been dumped by. I guess you could say I have been having a wild fling for about 18 yrs now. :guess

Sherry - DH talks about more tattoos once in a while - but at 51, he really doesn't care as much as he used to. I still think about getting one myself - but I haven't seen one, or thought of one I would want to have on me forever. My problem is I would want it to be unique - and I have no imagination. LOL!

Darcy - I really could have used my PA on Friday!! Maybe we would have made it to the airport 15 minutes earlier! Sounds like it's time to put old Bess out to pasture and get yourself a new ride. Alas, parting is such sweet sorrow...

Well, my Dearest Ones... I am off again today! We are going North to the Indian Casino today. We are trying WinStar which is just up the road from our Cindy. My DH and I are going with SIL & BIL to check it out. Thank goodness, we are taking the car. I have never had any trouble securing a seat in a car! :]

Love and Hugs to All...

Oh - and where the hell are those monkeys? I am still not seeing Pat or Patty.... :cry

Hi everyone!!!

I have to say---I love my husband!!! We just got home, he took me away on a surprise mini vacation for V-day! He and my oldest DD got together, and planned, and worked, and I had a fabulous weekend----he thought of EVERYTHING! There is a mountain town in Colorado called Ouray (pronounced yur-ray), it is built into the mountains---is called mini Switzerland. We used to go on our Anniversary, but with all this last year brought, we didn't go. So he booked our usual place...and he surprised me! He took along candles, and he knew which fragrance to buy (coulda been DD's influence there!!!), he packed some serious Chick Flicks, my favorite blanket to snuggle under...he remembered to load my down pillows! He had bags full of food, and most of it was band friendly....we ate out, but he had all kinds of things for the room. He had bought a tray of chocolate covered cherries and strawberries, from a local bakery. He had booked us a massage at the motel, we spent a lot of time in the hot springs, with it snowing on us! We rented snowshoes, and went walking in them---talk about exercise!!! It was a fabulous time...I remain in shock that he did all of it without me having a clue! He even had the neighbor in the know--so that she would feed the cat! We needed the time, what a way to reconnect---I guess I'll keep him!!!

Then on the way home, we stopped in Durango at the Walmart this morning, figuring it would be quicker...I ended up buying 2 new pair of jeans---size 14!!! I cannot keep the scale moving steadily, but things are changing in my body!!! We had to come home fairly early, we have a birthday dinner for a friend tonight at Fudruckers. Should be fun.

Mandy--hope you are feeling better--no more shoveling snow until your chest is clear---you do NOT want pneumonia! I do hope you are feeling better!

Beannie--WOW!!! What a trip---fun for awhile, but I was wondering if you ever got home!!! (I was reading---catching up....saw you DID finally get there!)

Eileenie--bundle up if you gotta go out!!! Frostbite is nothing to mess with. My FIL is missing the tips of 2 toes due to frostbite!!! Even though he claims it was MIL's bite!!!

Dianne---keep up posted on FIL, that is scary, he sounds very sick. You have your hands full Hon.....((((big big hugs to you!!!!))))).

Sherry--Sorry I am late wishing you a Happy Bandiversary!!! You have done so well, you may not have made the goal you hoped to at exactly the time you hoped, but you have done so well!!! It seems you live a very satisfactory life, one in which your band emphasizes how you live as opposed to restricting you you live. Which is just what I want too!!! Yeah, I wish I could sink below the 200 mark too.....but in time we both will. Until then, just think how much better our lives are than they were a year ago!!! You have done great!!! I am proud of you!

Chris--hope you enjoy your date!!! He sounds like a nice guy---I have one friend who asks questions all the time about my band...about my family...all of it, she is just very involved!!! It doesn't sound like he is judging you by it! I have no tattoos, neither does DH. At one point, him not having any was a definite plus in my book, I had issues with them for awhile! My ex was fully sleeved, and had a full back. It was a trigger for awhile, simply seeing a sleeve took my breath away in a panic. That has now passed...time has healed I guess! I saw that meaty tatooed arm swing at me waaaay too many times. Now my kids all have them. Son and one DD are small, youngest DD has a couple that are quite large. Much to her Dads upset! Her choice in pictures just confounds him!!!

Mary--glad you won your jeans!

Betty--how was your weekend? Did you warm up there? It was nice here---I missed it! Figures!

Cindy--DH even packed a box of GS cookies!!!! You sound way too busy to enjoy retirement the way I thought it was supposed to be!

Anne--glad the new job is fun!!

Patty, Pat, Cassie, and whoever else I missed-----guess that is all the message---I miss you!

Sorry for the monster post!

Kat

Kat, you were definitely a winner in the Valentine's Sweepstakes! That was a great trip! How very sweet and thoughtful, and aren't we all so lucky to have great DH's? At least, it sure seems that way. No surprise trips here, but I did get a very nice watch...

DD's Science Fair project is complete!!!!! I am so glad that is done. NOT my favorite thing to do.

Beanie, very glad you are back in Texas...not fun to get bumped from a flight. I know you were glad to get home and relax a little.

Betty, sorry about your stiff neck, and know you are glad to see something close to the 70s again!

Chrispy, take it nice and slow. No rush, and check it all out. Finding the right guy is just the most critical decision a girl can make for happiness. I think this guy has some positives going for him, and he seems like he cares about your welfare.

Dianne, you have got so much going on, I hope you are taking care of yourself. You are in my prayers, girlfriend.

Eileen, brrrrrrrrrr. Your NJ weather is pretty extreme! Yours, too, Mandy! Ya'll stay warm!

Darcy, hope you can get the treadmill going...is it still acting up even after you put in the new parts? I wasn't clear on that.

DD is home from school tomorrow, so we are going to go shopping and see if we can find a couple of skirts and tops for her to wear to church; she is very hard to buy for!

Everyone, have a great day tomorrow, especially if you get a day off!

Cindy

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
