THe shopping for treadmills inspired my hubby to order a new motor for my old treadmill...and a new belt...and.... etc. Hopefully the rest of the machine won't crap out after he replaces those things...lol. I wish the Y wouldn't put half an hour limits on their machines.

Chris...bummer about cancelling your date! I hope whatever popped gets better soon!

Kat... I'm so sorry about your friend. (((hugs)))

Cindy...38 degrees... fer heaven's sake...get out the summer clothes...it's time to get a tan!

Okay... must go let the idea of a spanking new tready go. *sniffle*

Good Morning,

Darcy love, sorry the dreadmill poohed out on yah. Don't get mad at yourself. For a back up they have a walking tape/dvd called "walk away the pounds" its suposed to simulate walking...and they even track it, 1, 2, 3 miles. Alot of people like it.

Cindy love, frozen tootsies and Cookies sound sad LOL, but its for a good cause. Yes 38 at this point would be a warm spell up here. I think its in the single digits when we get up and a high for the day lately has been in the 20's. But heck, spring is around the corner and I just can't freakin wait. I get seasonal depression January/Feb/March and its now to the point of me wanting to go to bed at night at 6:30 PM... Hurry Spring :) How is retirement? are you catching up on things that you've wanted to?

Mary, how's DS? Did you get your jeans?

Chrispy what????? what the heck popped??? gosh that sounds awful. Are you better today?

Kat sorry about the funeral  How are you feeling hon? hows DH feeling and DD?

Sherry, how are you feeling? I'm with the rest of the chickies here, be careful and you might want a slight unfill. Are you defrosted yet? man this cold weather is beating me up... I see Texas in my future LOL

My goal today is the mounds of laundry LOLOL.... other than that sosdd.

Have a good day everyone.... love you.

Eileen

Mornin Eileen...

Sorry about the cold temps... I know how it feels and maybe we can get a place together in Texas...lol. Oh... thanks for not beating me up for being in the NJ thread. I have the Walk Away the Pounds videos and they are awesome... however... I am trying to get prepared for a half marathon and those are just not going to get it. Hopefully my hubby will be able to fix old Bessie... if not... I am going to have to sell something and I'm pretty sure my bod won't bring in enough...lol.

Hello Y'all!

Sorry about being MIA so much, just a lot going on right now. I have been trying to get the house cleaned and laundry done today as I didn't get much done yesterday. I have read all the posts, but now I can't remember who did/said what so you'll just have to bear with me for a while.:)

I have been working on taxes, but I am ready to throw the damn things away~ I had to quit and forget them for now! Never had this much trouble in my life, and I have been doing them since I started working!

Darcy - Yeah! Come on down to Texas! You'll love it here! Sorry about the treadmill, maybe DH can fix it for you. Mine broke a while back and DH fixed mine with a new switch. It's not as pretty as it use to be, but it works! At least I think it does! :heh: :heh: :heh:

Kat - Sorry about your friend! It is so hard to lose someone we love. I am putting a pork roast in the oven, not only does it make more than one meal, it warms up the house while it cooks. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Eileen - Did you get a lot of snow? Hope you stay warm Sweetie!

Cindy - You are certainly a good camper to do those girl scout Cookies in the cold like that! I saw a group inside Sam's here sitting at a table selling them. Why can't you do that?

Chrispy - Sounds like you might have popped a stitch. Keep an eye on it and let us know how you are doing.

Mary - Did you win your bid on the jeans?

Sherry - I know you want to be tight and all, but it you don't quit the reflux, you will damage your esphogus. It seems like once you do that you have trouble forever. Just a slight unfill will do the job.

Beanie - How's the exercising going for you? The lottery is getting pretty big right now!

Dianne - How are you doing? Just thinking about you!:clap2:

Well, going to go get some more work done, I want to check the board and then get moving before I get too tired to do it.

Later!

Well hello there my friends. Nice to say I got a complete nights sleep if ya count going to bed at 12:30am and getting up at 7:30 complete. Sounds it to me. I didn't have the reflux last night which was great. I figured I already tried not eating so now I ate. I had two chicken wings before bed and I don't know if it helped or not but, I didn't get the reflux. Just in case I put pepcid by the bed and saltines and made sure the bed was inclined a bit more. DH survived. I'm still going to call the doc though...honestly I think TOM makes this band really tight. I can feel it in my clothes so it's gotta be doing something inside too. Anywho...it was nice to be able to sleep.

We had our friends over last night and we ordered WAY too much Chinese food. The girls brought dessert too. I was good....didn't eat too much and I only had one two-bite size cream puff for dessert. The band definately helps to not over-eat. If I didn't have this dandy finicky thing in me I would of eaten 2 platefuls of chinese food and then had that piece of german chocolate cake AND the cream puffs lol. So I'm thankful this is in place...even when it scares me lol. Unfortunately, I did something funky and blew out my hip last night. Really hurts to walk today. Haven't had this in quite a while especially this bad. I couldn't stand straight up when I got up this morning. Had to take a hot shower to get to a slightly bend stance then walked around to warm it up. Seems to be ok but I have to be really careful today to not blow it out again.

DH and I started a stained glass class at the local high school. Learned how to cut glass this week. We had to pick a pattern and pick up the glass we need for it. Dang this isn't going to be a cheap hobbie...but than again is any hobby cheap? DH is making a Cardinal suncatcher and I'm making an Angel suncatcher. I bought some pretty pearly iridescent pink glass for her dress and clear glass with a pressed pattern for her wings. Now if you hear swearing coming from Taunton, MA on Thursday night....it's me and I broke the glass while cutting it lol. I'm sure I'll do fine...just have to go slow and not force the glass. I'll post pictures when I "Ger 'er done" hahaha

Darcy - So sorry about your dreadmill. Have you tried to locate a Freecycle group on your area. I'm telling ya people give treadmills away all the time on there. You can join your local group, post a wanted message that you'd love a working treadmill if they have one that's just a clothes rack. It will remind people about it. I know it did me and I gave mine away to someone who asked for it. It was fine...worked great...just collecting dust. Of course NOW I'm wishing I had it lol. My mom has one downstairs she tells me I can use so I need to get my ARS on it to help with these miles. Anyway...give it a whirl. I also want to thank you for your kind words of support and caring with this reflux of mine. I sure was scared.

Kat - Did you work out the start date to have the fence fixed? I hope you get that soon. Thank you very much for your help with my franting posting of reflux. I took your advice and I have crackers by the bed just in case. Didn't need them last night but, they'll stay there just in case. Did you say yours is under control now?

Eileen - Can I bring my laundry to your house? I figure if you're doing mounds you might not notice a few of my things hahaha. Good luck with your next fill and I don't blame ya not wanting your boss to know. Some just don't understand. I still hold back with some when they ask me how I've lost this weight. I find myself telling them I eat my Proteins first, then my fruits & veggies then the carbs. Which is true (ahem most of the time) and just leave it at that. Like I need to tell my dog's groomer how I did it huh? lol

Chrispy - Oooo sorry you popped something. Must of been a rib! Are you going to see Kelley to get it popped back? Gosh I hate it when something blows out like that. I hope the cancelled date understands and rebooked his date with you :) Ohh and I wanna hear all about Friday :)

Cindy - I could never throw anything at ya girl! People tell me to exercise...well guess what....I've been telling myself that for YEARS lol. I certainly know I need to do that but, of course there is always an excuse. I'm hoping someday it will happen. We're still waiting for the stinking gym we signed up for to build one near us like they said. I'm currently paying my monthly fee with no gym being nearby. DH and I have to travel 15+ miles to get to the affiliated gym. Needless to say after traveling 100 miles back and forth to work...that isn't working. Especially if DH has been traveling to clients all day...he's in no mood to go and if he doesn't go then I don't feel like going. See the trend? lol. If they build where they said they were it will be 2 miles from my house!!!!! Hopefully it will happen soon...I need a better beach body :) Did the cookie sale go well? I don't think I remember reading how many boxes your troop sold.

Mary - Depending on the size and your height of jeans I may have some here for you as well. If you wanna PM me I'll be happy to check what I have. Lord knows my friend saved me a lot of money when she gave me her clothes so I'd like to return the favor to others :)

Mandy - Was your stomach swollen around the band because of the extra acid you were producing or was it from the band just being too tight? You've got me curious. It still scares me to have some fill taken out because I'm just so afraid I'll gain more than my usual 3 pounds back and forth. I'm scared just because 3 pounds is so easily added back on even with the band being tight with TOM that I'm afraid how much I'd gain with out some of the fill.

Betty - Missed ya this weekend. Hope you're doing ok and enjoying your weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well and shrinking! Have a great Sunday afternoon. I got my pork roast in my crock pot already and the house got cleaned yesterday for the friends coming over soooooo I think other than changing the sheets on the bed....I'm golden for the day. I'm not changing those suckers until tonight when I know my hip is better. DH just might have to help with it.

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Betty looks like we were posting at the same time :) I'm definately still going to call my doc in the morning about the reflux. I think he's going to have me comein for a slight unfill. If he does...then so be it I'll manage and get to moving my butt to keep the weight off :)

I'm scared just because 3 pounds is so easily added back on even with the band being tight with TOM that I'm afraid how much I'd gain with out some of the fill.

I was swollen from the PB's and the reflux. I also tried reglan, with a little success, but not enough. I actually lost weight because I was able to get in 1200 calories a day. If I get below that I gain, and if I get over 1500 I gain. It's a delicate balance with my little band. I am having sugar free (less than 150 calories) french vanilla coffee, instead of Creamer I use vanilla Protein Powder. I still can't eat in the am, even though it's almost 1, I have a head cold so it's one meal a day right now.

I don't have TOM (I'm on Depo) so I'm not sure how that would be for me. I am coming off depo, I didn't do my injection that was due last week, I am having my tubes tied, or possibly a hysto, so I wanted to get off the Depo. I'm told that I will drop 10-15 pounds just from getting it out of my system. I can't have any more children and am really happy with having just one anyway, so this isn't a huge deal for me anyway.

I will be back later today, I'm going to take a hot shower to see if I can breath again. ~Mandy

Funny you should mention the calorie range issue, Mandy...when I retired and started staying home, I realized I wasn't eating as well as I should be, AND I had gained a couple of pounds...I recently corrected the eating, and lo and behold, dropped the two pounds immediately. So, I think I'm a lot like you that way...if I don't eat enough, I will not lose. Also, years ago, I took depo, which didn't work out too well for me, but that's not the point. I just wanted to say you will lose weight, but it might take longer than you think for it to leave your body altogether. My body did not like depo, and it had some ill effects that took longer to leave than the length of time I used it! (I like having my one "perfect" child, as I like to say!)

Sherry, I'm glad you had a better night last night...and glad you are not throwing shoes at me (or anything else!) It is so hard to be patient! Keep repeating to yourself that you weigh 195. We might as well try that, huh?

Darcy, good luck rehabbing your dreadmill. I think I missed the part where you were training for a half-marathon. Dang! That's a long way, but you can do it! I like that idea where you ask around for one that's collecting dust somewhere... keep an eye on the classified ads, too.

Betty, wish I could smell that roast cooking in my oven! I just recently did a pork roast, and we really enjoyed it! I used a mustard marinade....yummy!

Eileen, spring's coming...hang on! You are welcome in Texas, just anytime you can escape! Bring the DD, they will have fun together, I'm sure!

Chrispy, hope you are feeling better today, and bummer on the cancelled date. If he's any good, he'll call you pronto for a make-up date!

Beanie, how's it goin'? I really enjoyed your comments on another thread, the one about the girl who got dissed by the canucks...you are really helping a lot of people out there! Way to go! You, too, Betty and Mandy!

I can never say "thank you" too often to all of you here on the NJ thread! You are all some of the best gals in all of LBT, or anywhere at all, for that matter! Thanks for being the wonderful friends you are!

Gotta go pick up DD...see you all later on this evening!

Cindy

Hi everyone! I'm glad to report that I am feeling better today. I'm still in some pain, but am doing so much better than yesterday. I spent about an hour and a half on the phone with Nick last night (the guy I had to cancel on) and then again this morning. He is very nice and I'm looking forward to meeting him. We're going to shoot for Tuesday.

So while i was home last night I found some before/during pics to share. I have a loooong way to go but am finally able to see a difference. Thought I'd share with you guys. The before was taken a couple days before surgery and the during was taken Friday night.

Hi All!

I am here in Fort Lee - and I have read all the posts since last I was here - but I have to get to bed so I am going to skip the personals...

I get super duper gold stars cause DH and I went to the gym 6 days this last week!... and I brought my exercise gear so I can use the dreadmill at the Hotel - although getting back here by 11 to use the gym might not be so easy. I have sworn to myself that I am going to do it - so harrass me about it, ok?

Saturday was all about laundry for the trip and packing up. And of course, today we flew into LaGuardia.

We had dinner at Carmines. For those who are keeping track of my travels, we have gone there before. It is a family style Italian place right off of 44th and Broadway. The food is EXCELLENT, the service is great - and the chairs (unlike another place in Manhattan that I could name) are actually comfortable enough to sit in for more than 10 minutes. Even though we came in pretty late, they didn't give us any attitude. It was great. Manicotti, Veal Parmigiana and a lovely salad was on the menu, and all were excellent.

Well enough food porn. I will check in with y'all tomorrow and let you know of any further exciting adventures.

Love and Hugs to All!

It's almos 3 am and I am up....I have an extemely sore throat. My left ear is hurting and I think I am coming down with the flu....ugh!! I am going to call my pcp in the morning and insist on being seen. I can't believe I am getting sick again. I took the advice of my doc and started drinking a glass of OJ each day, didn't seem to help. I know I have a sinus infection and I am pretty sure my ear is infected. Hubby says my throat is very red, and looks bumpy....strep??? UGH, I need sleep but took some sudafed, so I am gonna be up for a while. I considered nyquil, but am home alone (hubby's working) and I didn't want to be knocked out with Abi home. It's also snowing here again....we got about an inch in the last hour and it's still coming down. We already have 5 or 6 inches on the ground from the last several days. Will it ever melt? Will Spring ever get here? I hate the snow, it was pretty the first few days, but enough's enough. We didn't even have snow for Christmas, but we are going to have it for valentines day....there is something extremly wrong with that. I will check in tomorrow, if my head hasn't swollen and fallen off from infection....~Mandy

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
