Surgey is 4 days away and for some reason I've started trying to bite my nails.( nervous habit) Has anyone else had some nervous habits rise to the surface? It is starting to freak me out just the fact of my brain saying' date=' "No. You're not nervous." And my body saying, "The hell you're not." Help![/quote']

I am 3 days pre op and I have stated rocking again. Haven't done this since i was a kid. I look like a pysc patient. If i can't rock I'm shaking my legs. No matter were I'm @. I caught my self doing it the other day while I was peeing. LOL I know TMI. I even do it while I'm driving. I hate to do it around my mom because she knows it means I'm nervous and it makes her nervous. So... I gotta try and control it but it's not looking good. Longest 3 days of my life so far. Lol. I completely understand

My surgery was unsucessful...I was admitted at 8:30 am in the morning and ready for 9:30 am. The surgeon made 6 incision outside my stomach area and inserted the larpoc. equipment with air. Then they had to abort the srugery because my heart became weak and my heart rate was so low. My blood pressure went down to 70/40. They pulled the plug and the next thing I knew my surgeon was in the recovery room and told me that he almost lost me because of my heart and pressure. I was devastated and I started to cry. I don't understand why this happened to me? My Cardiologist told me that I was fit to do this surgery and he cleared me. After that they kept me in the hospital for evaluation. They ran some tests on me. They took many blood drawing, a heart cat scan, and 2D echo. All came out negative. Even though the procedure wasn't done I was in pain and haven't eaten for 3 three days. Today they discharge me and I have mild gatric pain. The doctor said to me to schedule an appointment for Monday to discuss my condition and to reschdule my surgery. I'am so hurt and tramatized I don't know what to do now. I guess it was bad luck for me. I'm home know and I'm still crying. I can't believe I had a brush with death.

On my way..I am more nervous then a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs... Please pray for me..thanks

I'm thinking of u now. Will be praying for you Superstar! :-)

Isla, sorry to hear about everything that happened to you. At least you had an experienced surgeon and he knew enough to call it quits! Your time will come.... With everything, there is purpose! You are still in our prayers. You are actually the first person that I have talked to that this has happened to. Life is very fragile...

Thank you ladies for sharing. As strange as it sounds reading your responses really helps put everything in perspective. And the nerves got a little more under control once I got the call from my pcp giving me the last ok. So again thank you ladies. We are almost there.

I told my daughter she jinxed me because she thought I was going to die. She saw me today and gave me many hugs and kisses. She said," Mom, don't give up" oh gosh still crying and I' m flooding my ipad...it has no warranty! Thank you for the kind words Jessica.

Thank god it is over! Sore as hades in hospital, got home yesterday and between the gas issues and feeling like a truck backed over me, getting better. Today I am really glad I stocked up on several types of the isopure drinks, so I can take small sips, and get water too.

Gas,gas,gas!

But walking really helps

Isla, so sorry you had to abort the surgery but you are here and that's what is important. One thing about medicine there are so many times when there is no reason no answer its frustrating as heck. In the old days docs were gods and we all believed they always knew what was going on and what to do to fix it. No more! Now we know it's a guessing game. I am glad your surgeon knew when to stop and save you! I hope they can come up with a solution for you.

Do u like the isopure pre op I liked the grape and blue raspberry could even deal with orange now I don't like any they r so strong honestly even pre op after the week on liquid the last two days I could barely drink any protien it was yucky luckily my surgeon said I can get something like pure protien pre mixed blend with 1/4c skim 2 tsp sugar free hershey syrup half banana and ice I've done it with muscle milk light and no syrup now I can stomach it it sucks because I can't seem to drink more than 6 oz of the pre mixed protien with all the stuff it comes to about 2c liquid a day and maybe 40-50 oz of water it is so hard to get in my liquids all I do is drink all day and it's still hard to get enough I've also been in the bathroom all day had a bm and been constantly going since anyone know if that's normal sorry to put it out there and ramble just curious what yins think I'm ready to sell my isopure but it sux cuz its so high in protien maybe I can blend with jello or sugar free Popsicles

Isla you are in my prayers I'm sorry you had to go through that I hope your better soon

Had surgery Monday, still very sore. They found that i had a hiatal hernia that was about to rupture, so they fixed it while they were in there. Blessing for timing! Gas pains are come and go, pooped for the first time today, yay? Lol... Staples are very painful, other than that, i am going to be ok.

I got bad news today. My nasal swab was positive for mrsa. MRSA is a nosocomial infection which means its hospital acquired and the organism is resistant to treatment. As a nurse for almost thirty years I guess it's inevitable to be colonized but it's devastating to be told your surgery may be delayed because they have to do you last so they can decontaminate, you will be unable to be on the bariatric floor but will be placed on a floor on isolation, and have to get an infectious disease clearance.

So I made an appointment with a doc for Monday and I am starting some antibiotics that have from my last infection, I am going to bath in hibicleanse everyday and may do a nasal lavage with it . I feel desperate!
