EGD / colonoscopy - check

sleep study- check

Cardiology clearence- check

GI consult- check

Pre op education program - 1 class to go

Final doctor appointment

Final two dietician meetings

Official insurance clearence

Chest X-ray

EKG

Blood work

** these must be done within 30 days of surgery**

Appointment with IVC filter doctor

IVC filter placed 3 days before surgery

Pick up incentive spirometer and surgery bag

This is my first post!! I have found this board so helpful with all the information..

I had my surgery on September 11. I feel very good today and improve a little each day. No major complications & have found a daily routine to get in all the shakes/vitamins/calcium... plus abt 3 more pills a day.

Thanks to everyone for being such a wealth of info!! Looking forward to the new me????

Glad your feeling good . Mine was sep 11 I'm also doing okay . How are you doing getting in the 64oz of liquids .

Hi everyone this is my 1st post! I'm more of a stalker on the site...love reading all the material...I finally decided to post on this thread because my date is set for Sept 28. I started my journey in July 2012.. I completed all the pre op requirements..did not have to do the 6 mon monitoring thank goodness!! The surgeon office was a bit disorganized but I am sort of a take charge kind of gal...my insurance is with Tricare- North Region and I'm Prime Remote...for all of you Tricare people amazingly, they approved me on the 1st go around and within 3 days of my submission!!!! WoW I know!! My BMI was 39.6 but I have 1 comorb...Hypertension so that did it...I'm SCARED to death but thankful for the opportunity and looking forward to the new healthy results.. Just like others, I now feel I need to eat everything in sight afraid I may never be able to eat or drink again..lol and I didn't have to lose or do the fatty liver diet!!

Ok this list is our most upto date as of 9/17/12 almost 50 of us have had or will have surgery this month. I make the post ops in red and will be moving ther thread to post op on OCT 1 when we are all post op.The list is username, surgery date, real name, and optional start wts or current wts. I like to use the word reduced or eliminated for "lost" wt since we sure as heck dont want to "find" that wt again.

I live in Arkansas. My pre-op weight was 239. That included 5lbs lost for pre-op.

I am doing great on the protein requirements. Im getting in 3 shakes per day. i have struggled with the water some. It helps by adding crystal light. That is my goal this week... to get all my fluids in!

hi all! I'm a September member and loser!! I'm 7 days post op. feeling alright but the nausea is pretty bad. my stomach gurgles a lot and im having a hard time getting any protien in at all. I've read a few other threads and saw I wasnt alone. good luck to all!!!

I am 6 days pro-op . ...I have a little nausea to but I take the medicine the doctor provided. I can find out the name of it if you want me to do. I I have been trying to get in a lot of protein too but I just went to the doctor and they said to try to get my fluids in, take my vitamins and do my best on the protein. I add the natural peanut butter to my yogurt have you tried that. Feel free to message me. ..it hard doing it by our self.
