Psychiatric evaluation - check

EGD / colonoscopy - check

sleep study- check

Cardiology clearence- check

GI consult- check

Pre op education program - 1 class to go

Final doctor appointment

Final two dietician meetings

Official insurance clearence

Chest X-ray

EKG

Blood work

** these must be done within 30 days of surgery**

Appointment with IVC filter doctor

IVC filter placed 3 days before surgery

Pick up incentive spirometer and surgery bag

Getting a breathing treatment

Has anybody found a protein shake that they really like? I've only tried carnations instant and it was pretty good but I wanted to try others. Thanks

hey jessica(uniqueladybug) thanks for updating i was just about to!

I finally converted to regular rhythm again after 48 hours of controlled rate fib. I posted a long dissertation on my blog about the situation. But the short version is I went into fib again thursday night just in time for my scheduled redo of my cardiac clearence. I went for the appt friday morning still in fib but with the new medicine I have a slower rate and am able to move around without the raging headache or dizziness. I was indeed in fib and the cardiologist and I had a long talk. He put some of my fears to rest: the main one being that my WLS would be postponed due to the fib and that he would not "clear" for surgery. He said as long as my rate is slow and I am as able as I was right then we were ok for the surgery. people live in constant fib and my bariatric team expects me to go into fib during or after surgery. I am to control my rate with another med and because i am on an anticoagulant (which I must stop 5 days before IVC placement) i will bridge the time from when I get the IVC filter(to prevent clots) til my WLS date about 3 days with lovenox (a shot to anticoagulate me). so we have a plan for any complications due to my heart crap TG i was so worried it would cause me to not be a september member!

Hi they were in low 80's but are finally climbing to the 90's after a few treatments. I'm feeling ok I finally got them to change Demerol for morphine now I'm able to walk a lil bit more!

Thinking about the girls that went in today, knowing that I will be tomorrow. Hope your okay and recovering well. I cant believe the day is finally here!! Its like the start of our new lives. Kinda scary and excited at the same time. Im thinking of my surgery buddies too, Isla and Lydia. Im sure you guys are nervous today like me. We are going to do great!!!

Lailani I thought I had written your name in on the list now that I see it again i remember commenting that I thought it was a very pretty name hmmmmm have to go fix that! and make the new post ops red.

Ramona- i have tried a couple protien drinks and I like unjury all the flavors vanilla strawberry and choc. I mix half a scoop of strawberry witht he scoop or scoop and a half of choc for an awesome shake. I have seen people recommend limited purchases because our taste buds change after surgery. so get a few to try but don;t invest in big quantities until after. I also tried banana myfusion and that was very good.
