I am thisclose to submitting my information to my insurance for approval! I have to attend a nutrition class tonight and have my final weigh in this month and I am finished! These six months have flown by! I feel like I have learned a lot and I am incredibly excited about what the future holds. Here's to a new year filled with success, adventures, and finding out what's behind all these layers I've created. I'm hopeful and thankful to have found this forum. :D

Thank you both! My surgery group is supposed to be sending in the information today. I had to do the 6 months of weigh ins, nutrition classes and appt., cardiac clearance, upper GI test, psych eval. Now, I am just waiting. The insurance coordinator said with my insurance, the approval could take up to 7-10 days. I'm really excited. I've always been overweight and I am looking forward to using this tool to finally give me a chance to live the healthy life I've wanted.

A lot of people's insurance companies tell them that, but then they have like a 24 hour turn around...here's hoping you are one of those people!! Can't wait to gear the great news!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
