Idk why but i was hoping that I could fix my insomnia issues after surgery but so far not happening. Thought I could take pain meds and go to bed early from being tired but not so much. Hopefully exercising will help!

I'm kinda hoping the same thing. Im still preop. But I was hoping surgery and exercise would improve my sleep.

I can't wait to have more energy. It's not like I don't get enough sleep, I sleep 10 hours a night. But I'm tired and sluggish all day. Reminds me if that eCard "I already want to take a nap tomorrow"

I'm so sick of not having any energy. I complained so much about most of the pre-op testing I've had so far....but my Dr. Just found an issue with my thyroid...which is a blessing in disguise. If it wasn't for starting the process of getting this surgery, I probably never would have found out! I'm hoping for more energy once it's treated lol. The pre-op testing is a pain, but I see the importance of it now.

No energy and no REAL food caused me to almost pass out today getting blood drawn ! I had a heavy sense of anxiety and I just felt like I was pouring sweat everywhere ! I am ready to have some full liquids at this point !

And to make it so bad ... SHE DIDN'T FIND NOT ONE VEIN AND BLEW ALL THE ONES SHE DID ! So basically I am grouchy due to hunger and no energy and this just put the icing on the cake !

I no my journey is my own but gosh ... No one said it would be this incredibly hard !

Ugh ...

That's terrible :( Hang in there though. Just think...it's almost over. My sister is your age and doing her two week liquid diet now and having a hard time. I keep letting her know her NEW life is so close now, it's in sight. It's frustrating, but you are almost there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
