4 weeks and 4 days. Apparently that's to be magic #! Last night my baby girl and I figured out a way for me to get in the pool without hurting myself. I just lounged in the Water for about an hour and a half. It was so lovely. When I got out all my muscle pains were gone. No sharp pains in my abdomen. No intense soreness in my back. It was heaven. I was cautiously optimistic since I swam in a friends pool 2 weeks prior and though it took away the pain for that moment the pains returned within an hour or two. But I laid on my stomach/side last night. Oh sweet comfort! sleeping on my back for a month was misery:) I didn't take any pain meds muscle relaxers. Downside to that is my body is so used to being knocked out that I think I slept 15 min of every hour and I'm exhausted this morning. I "got up" this morning and still no pain. I am sitting up straight, able to bend over and not calling for help to getty shorts on;) Could it Be? Could the pain finally be gone? My mind says try and drive today. But then I think don't push it:) But for now I'm just going to enjoy not hurting and hope it lasts!

That's awesome! You should definitely plan on returning to the pool as a preventative. Sometimes forcing yourself to relax like that is enough to loosen those tight muscles.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
