Hello Mindy,

I'm so glad you made this post! I was going to post how much I feel like a failure. I'm almost 1 month and everything I eat or drink taste disgusting. I'm not getting in my Protein shake and I'm barely drinking enough Water. I'm barely getting the flintstones Vitamin down. I can't imagine this getting any better.

We need to hold on & be patience. My surgeon told me it will take 6 months to feel normal again. I believe because remember when I was struggling to keep food down. He said it will take time. Now I'm able to eat 4 bites & I'm full. I eat about 6 times a day. I just have to get energy. This house needs to get clean. I can't do chewable Vitamin. I'm taking Gummy vitamin taste good & I can keep it down with no issues.

It will be almost 3 months since my surgery and I am also sluggish and tired. I just had my gallbladder removed last week so I am still recovering from that surgery. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will be all headled from both surgeries and well on my way to the the new me :)

Perhaps you're under estimating the energy required for the healing process? RNY is not minor surgery and you're not even two months out yet. Internal healing takes some time and your body is going through a lot of changes at the same time. You may be off balance because your center of gravity is changing (quickly) and your "muscle memory" is having a little trouble keeping up. "Body image" is primarily in your mind and that takes time to change as well. You're doing great! Celebrate the 56 lbs you've lost already and do your best to be a little more patient. The changes will come in time. You might find some hunger tips that you can apply in my post "Managing Hunger" here on the forum. You also want to be sure to get all of your Protein and take all of your Vitamin and supplements every single day. You're gonna love the new you!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
