Hi, everyone. Looking for opinions cause I know that everyone is different. My surgery was last Thursday. Came home last Saturday. In the hospital I had a morphine PCA (don't think it helped) and was supplemented with toradol every 6 hours (my best friend). I came home on percocet. I was taking 2 every 6 hours. Took away my pain almost completely and lasted about 5.5 hours. I was feeling great. But the percocet has run out. Tylenol isn't cutting it. What to do? I feel like I'm being one of those (sorry age group) whined ass 30-40 year olds who scream and get hysterical over pain while the 90 year old in the next bed says, "no honey, I'm perfectly fine."

I'm not quite a week out. So here's the opinion portion. I'm having what I would call a 7-8 pain on the left side below my breast and over my rib cage on the left side. This happens to be where my JP had been located. I'm going to call for more pain medicine in the morning cause this pain is going to keep immobile and I want NOTHING to put the brakes on my recovery. Did/does anyone else have this much pain 6 days out? I may just be crazy thinking I shouldn't still hurt this bad;( What are everyone else's experiences?

Don't feel bad.... I am a HUGE baby when it comes to pain, I cannot tolerate any pain what so ever. I'm not doctor but your pain sounds like it could be gas. My surgery was on a Monday and I did not release my gas until Friday/Saturday and I had some really bad pains. I had gas pains in my shoulders for about 2 wks. Don't ever hesitate to call your doctor - that is what you/insurance company is paying him for !!!! Also when your body is in pain it takes longer to heal so absolutely call for more pain meds !!!!

I have not Kiwilaydee. I've been using ice. Maybe I need to switch. Did the heat help a lot?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
