Hello

My doctor told me to walk the next day after surgery. Walking is the best you can do right, but I wouldn't left more than 10 pounds.Does your sweet pit bull pull you or walk beside you? If he walks beside you get your walk on :)

I was walking on day 1. By 4 weeks I had gone back to working out, because I felt able to do it. I noticed I was getting kind of dizzy if I overdid it / didn't eat properly (or time it right) prior to the workout. The only thing I would worry about would be your abdomen, because you don't start with sit-ups. So if your dog yanks you along and it pulls on your stomach, I'd say no, but why not, otherwise. Don't go from 0 to far from home right away - go in small loops around a block first, say, so you get a feel for how far you can go, personally, instead of how far you "should" go. Then get adventurous.

I didn't have that issue but I would wait until your clear to do whatever. Only because your still healing and why complicate things. That's just my opinion but call your surgeon and find out :) good luck on your gastric sleeve journey!

I've been walking all along, about 2-4 15-30 minutes a day. I have a 90 retriever cross. The first week and a half someone had to walk him. I know out his gentle leader on him and I walk. Him. He hates when it pulls his head if he tries to go against me, good luck.

Try a gentle lead available to pet stores for minimal cost, then both you and your four legged bestie can get your walk on :)

My md made me walk as soon as I woke up from surgery. I went in at 630 and was walking at 1pm. He wants all his patients to walk a mile a day starting in the hospital

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
