Chest X-ray Problems

Recommended Posts

OMG! :cry LB Dr. just called and said my chest pa showed an abnormality in the lower lung field and says it may be the onset of early pneumonia.

Okay, 1st off, this x-ray was taken 12/26...wouldn't I have developed full blown pneumonia by now, or some sort of symptoms?

I'm freaking out about what this could be.

The thing that really ticks me off is the Radiologist. :o This x-ray was taken 12/26. The results should have been forwarded to my Primary Care Dr. and my LB Surgeon, he's the one that ordered it. I think someone dropped the ball on getting these x-ray results to the Dr's in a timely manner!:angry

Nurse at surgeon's was putting my chart together for surgery date consultation (YEA!) and said she had to call for the results of my x-ray and asked if my Primary Dr. discussed the results with me...NO!

What if this is something major? I'm so afraid this will totally eliminate my chances of getting the LB.

Primary Dr. called in to hospital to have another x-ray. Just to double check everything. I'm hoping to do this yet this evening.

I'm really hoping this turns out allright and my possible LB will still be a go!

It could be you have walking pneumonia which many people "walk" around with without showing any symptoms. It's not unusual for the doctors not to send test results in a timely manner. It's extremely frustrating and doesn't seem ethical, but it does happen. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
