Seeking assistance/...having problem...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Okay....here is the circumstance: I got a fill last Friday (nine days ago); I did need the fill. I had .5 ccs put in so that I am now at 7.5 ccs in a 10 cc band.

The fill was done via fluro and checked, so things didn't seem to appear to be "too tight"....I did start to feel restriction but I initially thought in a "good way".

However, I have been unable to eat much at all over the last nine days (ie. I struggle to consume 1/4 cup of Beans for a meal). Though this has resulted in a 7 lb loss in the last week, that is not what I'm after. Now, what has started happening (over the last 2 days) is that it seems about an hour and a half after I eat (& I use the term "eat" lightly") I need to vomit (I don't know if I'm PBing or vomiting)....I literally need to do it...so I lean over the sink, I just have to cough (nothing forceful) and some liquid and food (well chewed up teeeeeeny bits of food - if u can call it that) come up. I sometimes feel better afterwards and othertimes I don't. God knows I'm not upchucking because I'm too full!!!! I'm not eating near enough for that!

This is a pain...and not good for me (ie. feeling weak and tired etc because I KNOW I'm not getting enough food - let alone Water - into me).

I've heard lots of ppl say this happened to them after fills and it eventually subsided. So, I don't know if I should just wait it out or if I should have a de-fill. I'm a lil' confused, because as I said, I did need a fill....but now I'm having this problem and this is not the way I want my band to work. Plus, it is really worrying Mr Yoda (and me to some extent because I know this isn't the way it should be)....

So, has this happened to anyone out there, and if so, what did you do?

Do I consider a de-fill (it's a pain in the ass for me to drive all the way to the clinic for one --- 4 hr round trip ...but I'm willing to do it if required) or do I wait it out?

Is this a clear cut sign of being to tight or something else?

Comments/experiences greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!

Yoda this has happened to me twice since I was banded last April except mine did'nt start until about three weeks from fills done under flouro. They

can't explain it to me as of why but both times I have had to go for an unfill. I and you know this is not the way it is supposed to be. Yes I really lost the pounds also and tried to wait it out but it did'nt work that way. I never got any relief until they took a little out. What is so aggravating for me is even tho I only had .2 taken out I had just the right restriction for about five days afterwards and now hardly none at all so I would say have very little taken out. This band shes a bitch, my fill is now at the same level it was when I had to get my first unfill, but I've got her down to about 10 from goal so hang in there we will get er done and good luck.:)

Thanks SallyJo and Jack; appreciate it! I will be calling tomorrow morning to talk to the clinic and see what the "up" is. If I KNEW this would go away in a few days, I could hack it...but I don't have that guarantee.

Jack...I am definitley NOT a "too much is not enough" kind of person....despite losing 7 lbs in a week, I would MUCH MUCH rather lose the 1 lb a week and be "normal" with my eating (ie. eat more than enough to feed a baby sparrow!!).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
