Wow this is all interesting, since I too am experincing on top of my right foot and sometimes my left foot.My chiropractor has adjusted my hips, ankles and foot to elevate the pain.I sure hope it just because of the weight causing this joint pain.

My orthopedist said that for every one pound of weight we carry, we put four pounds of stress on our knees. My right knee was hurting so much prior to my sleeve that I was preparing myself for knee replacement surgery. Since I have lost a good bit of weight (~60 pounds), I have no more pain in my knee. It is still damaged, and I still baby it, but I do not suffer under the ~240 pounds of excess pressure (60 x 4) on it that I did before my weight loss. Thank you, sleeve!

Hello all, it's Lacunn711 from just outside Cincinnati. I don't know about you all but I'm so sick of the snow!!! Next Wednesday is my last visit to meet my 6 month requirement. I have about 85 pounds to lose, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis in my hands, wrist, back, knees, which the ortho wants to do a knee replacement on after already having two hip replacement. My spine specialist is who referred me to Dr. Curry. I do have concerns about gain the weight back, Hair loss, and I have yet to hear about a good bariatric support group in Cincy. Between not being about to workout because of the pain and swelling, depression over my weight, feeling old an ugly, and the snow I wondering if I'll ever feel better bodily and emotionally. Sorry ladies I'm feeling a little sorry for myself.

Arts137,

I have osteoarthritis in both knees and L hip. The best thing that was prescribed for me was a medication called Voltaren gel. It's applied directly to your knees. It's anti inflammatory in nature, but without the hazard of wrecking your pouch!

Fiddleman,

What Is the name of the shirt you wear that helps correct your posture?

My mom has scoliosis so bad that she's pretty much bent over at the waist. I've ben looking into braces for her but your"shirt" sounds amazing.

Thanks for any information that you can provide.

sure, the shirt is made by Intelliskin and about $100. Amazing shirt. I have two, It has worked well and I don't need them any longer for correcting posture. However, I still like using them during workouts because it makes for good compression and keeps reminding me to depress the scapula, relax the traps and more. While my posture is pretty good now and my upper back relaxed, the residual spinal degeneration is still there at the apex points. Not much I can do about that (or is there?), but having a good posture makes it more tolerable without pain meds (it has been months since my last NSAID). I hope the shirt helps your mom.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
