Anti-Semitism In France!

Recommended Posts

See, Ron, this is what I don't understand. Instead of considering other people's information, you keep blustering. In this case, you are wrong. Stand up, be a man, and admit it. Not only are we saying you are wrong, but the Justice Department (you know, the guys that actually arrest people and put them in jail) says you are wrong. I may believe that the Easter Bunny exists because that's what I've been told, but that doesn't mean it's true.

Ron, have you ever consderred that you may not always be right? You appear to reject that possiblity at all costs. Is there a chance that you may have a little racisim in you and it managed to present itself in your earlier statements. How can you improve as a person if you refuse to admit that you may at times make mistakes and that you of all people may be imperfect.

The statement you make about crime is based on a racist opinion you may not even be aware, until now, you have. You can decide to become a better person and use this as a learning experience or you can continue to argue the point at the same time only prove the opposite is true.

Your comment to ousooner was way offside, you are a follower of Christ not Christ. You have no right to judge his commitment to his beliefs you may think you have all the answers and I applaud your strong sense that you know what is right but you do not have all the answers and you never will.

Do I believe that more violent crime committed against white is committed by non-whites. Yes I do! Since the prison population is predominately black [...] I come to that conclusion.

Another logical fallacy.

It' very admirable when people can admit they're wrong. It earns them a good measure of respect. So far you've done a good job of bypassing and ignoring other posts where you've been called out. Even the best of luck has to stop somewhere.

It's an opinion based upon what evidence I have seen. Am I not entitled to an opinion just like you are?
So now the safe corner is "Can't I have an opinion?" We've been there a time or two before. Sure, you can have an opinion. I belive it was YOUR OPINION I asked for. But when your opinion is racist, and against hard data, you can't expect people to just figure - "that's what he's capable of." Or maybe you can. What do you want -- to voice your opinion, and no one else can voice theirs? Then you need to blog, not messageboard.

No one here said you cannot have an opinion. In fact, what I asked for was YOUR opinion, not what you've read or been fed in some other way, shape or form. So cut the crap. You know you can have an opinion. But to verbalize something so ... insert phrase of choice here... and then pull on your "I'm not allowed to have an opinion!" defense...

"Whinning"? LOL

You really can't stand to be wrong, can you? And now I'm whining because I call you on it. That's so cool. :)

Wheetsin, it's really getting to be pretty amusing. Honestly, it is. Ron has a very predictable pattern. He spouts off about something that he really has no clue about, then gets super upset when people correct him. Instead of admitting he might be wrong about something, he starts screeching about people attacking him and his "Christianity". And then he storms (as well as someone can storm on the internet) off in a huff, not to be seen for a few days.

I mean, really. It's gotten to the point where I am sort of guiltily revving him up just to watch him go.

Well, unfortunately your opinion is coming across as VERY racist, even IF you think you read the fact sheet right. What we are trying to tell you is that you misunderstood what you read.

What the facts are basically is that there are more non-white people in jail than white people. It does NOT mean that there are more NON-white people committing crimes on white people.

Can some one cut and paste an average from some legitimate crime site that says crimes on a white person are committed by what % of the whites vs non-whites?

Also, I read that your comment to "sooner" by putting the word Christian in quotes you were off handedly saying he wasnt "Christian" enough for you because he dissagreed with you. Care to rectify that? Or am I whining?

If you think my opinion is racist, then think what you want! An opinion is an opinion, it is not a statement if infallible fact. And you can voice your opinion all you want, weather you agree with me ot not. When did I ever indicate otherwise. I think you just look for things to argue about and like to find fault any where you can. And that is my opinion, weather you agree or not!

I don't consider my opinion racist at all. It is based upon my experience and observation. If you have some hard fact that says otherwise, I would be happy to admit that I was mistaken. So far I havn't seen that happen!

I was not saying "Sooner" was not a Christian, I was implying that his views differ from most Conservative Evangelical Christians, which I think are somewhat inconsistant with the faith he embraces.

Oh, you just love to stir up trouble, don't you! You "correct me" but I havn't seen anything to show that my observation is wrong, have I? Then you write that I am "screeching about people attacking him and his "Christianity"! Would you care to show me where I said that?? You want to talk about being raciest and biased? I think you athiest liberals are a bit biased against Christian, are you not?

An opinion as to whether beige is an attractive colour and should be extensively used in home decor is quite different from an opinion on racial behaviour patterns.

The first, this issue surrounding the use of beige, is purely a question of personal taste. The second issue falls into an entirely different category, that of demographics, and there exists a multitude of studies and statistics on this issue. This is not an arena where you get to float an opinion which is unanchored to prior research into the hard data which currently exists; the stakes are far too high. This is an issue which deals with how we are encouraged to view our fellow brothers and sisters. Careless statements may have far reaching consequences.

You have displayed yourself as being very sympathetic to the plight of the Jews in Europe. I would argue that the Jews were historically set up for mistreatment and repeated attempts for destruction by the majority because they were repeatedly the target of careless and unthinking statements which not only put them in a box but pathologized them. Jews were viewed as being apart and not fully human. They were demonized.

- Sorry for the rupture but my computer decided that it had to do strange things! -

It strikes me that your recent refusal to backtrack on your statement that crime does not have a tendency to stay within a racial framework, even after you were provided with information which indicated that this was true, indicates that you are either racist or careless enough about examining the facts that you are willing to toss unexamined inflamatory material concerning a group of individuals into the open market.

When you toss off a statement which implies that blacks are a criminal underclass who prey on white people in America, and then defend this because this is your opinion and you have a right to your opinion, you are encouraging people to believe that a group of individuals should be viewed as being apart and as being not fully human. This is called demonization, eh.

As I have often said on Rants and Raves, my father's side of the family perished in the Holocaust. There were few survivors. My father's response to this was to raise his kids to be passionately concerned about the responses of all majorities towards all minorities. I believe that we must be sensitive towards each other although this is terribly difficult to do. I believe this is why I enjoy our awful conversations, Cusano. I kinda think that they are productive.

Ron, not only are you a bigot in my opinion, you're apparently blind. Both Wheetsin and TOM posted factual rebuttals to your so-called "opinion" earlier in this thread, around page 91. They were statistics from the FBI, showing that your observation is w-r-o-n-g.
You want to talk about being raciest and biased? I think you athiest liberals are a bit biased against Christian, are you not?
I'm not. I have friends and family that are Christians and that I love dearly. I just don't like so-called "Christians" like you, who use their "faith" and "Christianity" to be bigots.
Then you write that I am "screeching about people attacking him and his "Christianity"! Would you care to show me where I said that??
Have you been here for this thread, Ron? Or has someone been taking over your body? Read the damn thread, it's there in black and white (or black and blue, actually, since those are the LBT colors).

First Ron, you didn't say this until I disagreed on a non-religious issue - your post which I and others found to come off as racist. The only other thing we have differed on, besides your tone, was that same sex marriages are harmful to the society as a whole, though I agree with the teachings of the bible that it is against God's plan. I don't think I am very different than many conservative Christians. I think the problem Ron is that you are trying to be a Christian martyr. You throw things out there and when people disagree, you say poor me, I am being persecuted because I am a Christian. As it has been said early on. the majority of the time it is your tone and argumentative tone that has people upset.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
