Hi I don't have my date yet. I'm waiting for insurance approval. I have appt with my surgeon sept 24to hopefully be given date. Im from mn, but I go to port richey nov thru April. I m probably going to be delayed til the mid of nov to get down to port richey. My sister had bypass surgery two years ago. She found support groups in new port richey. Anyway I'm hoping and and got my fingers crossed to get ins approval in the next 7-10 days. I started process June 10. It has gone fairly smooth so far. I started at 213, and have been working on slowing down on eating and chewing the food properly. That has been my biggest adjustment along with getting enough Fiber. So much Protein keeps me borderline constipated. Started the new powder Fiber that I got at Walmart. We could stay in touch and ill be in port richey for 6 months.

I don't have an exact date set either but we think mine will be in November as well. Very excited to do this but have a few fears - like if I succeed or fail. Been on so many weight loss programs in the past & have failed .... I am also trying to slow down on eating & working on Portion Control. My biggest problem right now is I am a Dt Mtn Dew junky & am trying to break away from the habit. I've been trying to drop a bottle each week & I have reached the week without any - can't figure out how to wake up in the morning!!!!!

Feel free to contact me privately but honestly people on this site have helped me with so many nutritional, emotional , and medical worries pre and post. You'll be fine. Let your excitement shine thru girl

Huskers, I was a diet coke fool. Dropped pop a year and a half ago. Realized I didn't need the caffeine but like a glass of unsweetened ice tea in the am every so often. ... Congrats on cutting pop out.

Yes, I have met with everyone and have one more appointment to do an endoscopy this Thursday then all will be completed. I see my dr on the 20th for my pre-op appointment and surgery is on the 25th. I have found a couple of people since posting this topic on here. Thank you so very much for your reply. P.s. I like Tedd too. Lol

VST is okay but it doesn't come close to being a support group. I cannot over-emphasize how important it is to get face-to-face with other patients and actual experts in the bariatric field - they are very few and far between here at VST.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
