Feeling awful every time I eat

Recommended Posts

I also saw a post the other day with someone who said she had these issues due to her anemia. As soon as that got treated, the nausea went away. Maybe feosol will help?

I'm just over a month out. Every time I eat' date=' I get nauseous, my heart starts pounding and I feel like I'm going to pass out. After about 30 minutes or so, it goes away. I just feel so terrible. I just had Soup and I'm trying not to fall out, again. As an aside, I am severely anemic post surgery. I I exert myself or get hot, I have similar symptoms. So, I'm wondering, is it all anemia related or have others had this with eating post op?

Thanks,

It sounds like your dumping , our nut explained that if you eat anything fatty or sugary you can get whats known as the dumping syndrome, it makes you feel pretty ill for a while and is very unpleasant, palpitations, nausea feeling like your gonna pass out. I have, nt had it myself as I have stuck to my post op diet and i, m still on liquids, purees, i, m in the uk do your surgeon tell you about dumping syndrome in the usa?

It does feel exactly like what I've heard dumping feels like. However, it is worse with things that shouldn't cause dumping. I have it the worst with meat, and am least likely to have it with a simple carb like white crackers or Cereal.

I keep trying to remember who said it but can't. You may want to start a new thread with" nausea related to anemia" or something as a title.

Visit with my primary care doctor and upper GI study this a.m.! My stomach is emptying too fast causing symptoms similar to dumping syndrome. I have also gone from being an insulin dependent diabetic prior to surgery to being hypoglycemic after, so blood glucose is staying very low and ANY food intake is causing a sudden and rapid increase in glucose levels.

My surgeon had me eating 3 meals a day with 3oz Protein, 3 tbsp starch, and 3 tbsp veggies which was tough to get down. I have been instructed to have 6 mini meals a day with 2 oz Protein, 2 tbsp starch, and 2 tbsp veggies. I started this at lunch today and already feel a little better. Nausea has subsided for now........hoping this does the trick!

Wow! That's great. And something none of us on the board could have predicted. SO glad you talked to the surgeon and shared.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
