A completely unnecessary bit of whining

Recommended Posts

Today, I cooked dinner for 2.5 hours. I made chicken curry, lentils, cauliflower with peas, rice, and chapatis (freshly made Indian bread).. And I got to eat.....none of it. Hello Protein shake! Long time no see. Four hours to be exact.

I'm spoiled. Since my husband and I got sleeved together, and since my 13-year old is easy to fix meals for, I haven't had to worry with fixing large meals for my family. Today with my dad visiting from India I cooked a proper meal.

It's not even like I was hungry for it. It's just the PRINCIPLE of it!

So I'm done whining but I will say....all those men and women who have been cooking for whole families while on pre-ops and post-op liquids?

I salute you! You are models of giving and selflessness!

I've been having a torrid love affair with a man named Joe. Trader Joe. ;)

There's not one close to me. Can you believe that?!

Can you believe my trader joes is a four hour round trip? I went before I started my pre op diet. Made it so easy for the kids to cook!!

Maybe I need to do that. My dad will be here for two weeks and next week I travel for work so i was going to cook like a mad woman this weekend so he and my husband would have food while I was gone.

You didn't even lick anything?

No because Ms. Laura-Vern's article about chewing and spitting put the fear of god into me!

Noooo! It's me! I'm in one of those hate-everything stages of sleevedom.

But thank god I don't have to cook for anyone; hats off to you, lady!

Gamer girl, while I'm sure your home cooked Indian food is amazing, I found a lot of the trader joes Indian frozen Entrees to taste like good restaurant quality. My family also loves the turkey meatballs and teriyaki chicken. Last night they steamed TJ frozen tamales. Omg they looked good. I'm on day 12 of pre op and surgery Monday. I need to stop talking about food...haha

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
