October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

Well Friday Nov 29th i go back to work for the first time since my surgery on Oct 11th I'm excited I'm going back 45-50 lighter then when i started

You have to tell us what reactions you get. Going back to work smaller was a mixed bag for me- some people looked at me you could see them trying to figure out what was different. Most of the people who knew were okay, but some were intrusive and I could see them looking me up and down every time I would come around which for me was uncomfortable. Someone from another unit in the hospital heard I had gotten a Tummy Tuck (don't know how that rumor got started), came to my unit to find me, and actually touched my stomach and said how good it looked!! WTH?!? I know you're a guy so you probably won't have as many issues as the women do.

Well everyone pretty much knew what I went out for so it's no surprise I'm not ashamed I did what I had to do to live longer healthier and thinner nothing anyone could say or do would take that away from me I went in on Monday after my doc appt and my he was like omg you look great so I'm sure that will be most peoples reaction any other s can go stuff it lol but tbh I had nothing but support before I went out so I assume it will be the same when I go back but I'll keep everyone posted its weird to me that I'm going back to work 50 pounds lighter then when I left 6 weeks ago

So I am 5 weeks post op. I lost a total of 27 pounds, 17 of that has been post op. I have been stalled for the past two weeks. Please tell me I am not alone in this. I can't do Protein Shakes, long story. But I make sure that I eat 5 meals a day and it's all Protein.< /p>

First day back to work! It's was refreshing to kind of start with a clean sheet. I'd been gone for 6 weeks.. Surgery was 6weeks ago today! Down two dress sizes..and it was funny trying to read reactions. I got a few that said you look so good.. The two people, that knew what was going on..were really praising the healthiness and happy for me! The people that didn't know..well I gave them a new hair style to be surprised by as well. So it was funny to hear..oh you look so rested and relaxed! Your hair is great. Side note on the hair..I got it in a really short curly style...because my hair started to shed!!! ;-) however it's been a good change..I'm trying something completely different! And you know what..once you have had your stomach rearranged..or modified.. A hairstyle is extremely simple! All in all it was interesting to get the reaction..or I'd say the you look so relaxed...reaction! Happy first days to you all!

I'm exactly 2 calendar months out and today I broke the -50lb barrier! Weighed in this morning at 189 - started at 240 the day I started my pre-op diet.

This all seems to be going far too easily - I'm convinced my luck is going to run out soon!

Please add me to the FB group as well. The first time there must've been a glitch in the matrix, lol.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
