Is that a little pus around the staples? If so, it probably shouldn't be there, but I'm obviously not a doctor.

I had glue too. There was a little bruising but really, but nothing like that. Some people are more sensitive. Especially if there are stitches involved. Make sure your incisions are not hot to the touch and that no pus comes out. That could indicate an infection. I kept my moist with plain medical lotion.

It finally let me see the picture in a larger format. That does look like pus to me too. Or iodine.

I'm not a dr and I've never played one on TV- but other than bruising (I didn't have any)- it looks very similar to how my incisions looked about the same time post surgery

Is this a normal looking incision site? I just had surgery thursday

OUCH! That looks painful. I had staples and glue. My incisions were a little red, but not nearly as angry looking as those. I'd say let your doc take a look. Better to be safe than to deal with what could have been a preventable issue down the road. Good Luck!!

I colored up real nice, had a great big bruise before it was all over. Bruising looked much worse than it felt. I was fine and it eventually went away.

Personally I think they look ok....mine bruised up like that too. I did not have staples however, so I might be a bit concerned about the buildup around the staples, but that may be normal. I think you are probably fine but like others said if they are hot to the touch or leaking pus, get to the doc! I've worked in healthcare for over 10 years, but not a DR or RN :)

My incisions were sealed with dermabond and I didn't have any bruising. Some people just bruise easier than others. I'm a nurse and as long as you're not having any fever, swelling around the incision sites or excruciating pain, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I had a lot of bruising around the one where he removed my stomach. Actually, I'm 20 days post op and its still a pale yellow color around it... I didn't have any drainage tho.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
