Edamame (?sp) wondering if anyone post op eats this? Do you like?

Okay so I'm the only person that does not like these. I have tried them every which way pre-op and then did a taste test post-op...yup, still don't like them.

However, I have heard others rave about the crunchy version. Nice crunch when you can't have chips and pretzels.

I eat both, but I am a big fan of the roasted. Just 1/4 cup is 14 grams of Protein. It SO helpful when I need to get protein in and can't handle much volume. Also great when you're having a salty, crunchy craving.

What brand do you buy? There has to be something I'm missing because I mean everyone (and I mean everyone) I know loves them. I must have gotten a few bad batches.

I LOVE the fresh ones. I can't eat the crunchy ones for whatever reason. Need to try again, post-op.

I wish that I could help. I don't have a brand. I get the roasted, lightly salted edemame from a local grocer (how rare is that nowadays). It's in bins that you scoop out like where the nuts are. Sorry. I hope that you find one that works for you. I'm a vegetarian & would be lost without them.

Ahh we have a small health food market, I'm going to see if they have any in the bins there. I have to normally stay away from the bins because they put the choc covered nuts, granola, etc all right there with the healthier foods.

That would be a good way to try without buying a whole pack.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
