My husband is killing me!

Recommended Posts

Ah, your not supposed to chew gum..At least that is what I was told by my team because it gets the acids flowing in your stomach and causes bubbles.....causes you to burp a lot!!!

you guys are funny!!!!!!!!!!!!

This makes so much sense. I think I was told that but ignored it because I LOVES my gum.

No wonder I get the burbs every day on the ride home. Never once associated the 2. WOW!

Last night while baking an incredible smelling peach pie he asked me to pay the pizza guy when he arrived! I finally put my foot down and said no. Ive had nothing but shakes for five freakin weeks!

I was pissed when my hubby ordered pizza. I went to pay the guy and he asked me out. Made me feel a bit better about not eating that junk.

I'm on day 8 of my post-op liquid diet...

And he's in the kitchen cooking bacon!

Now my head is screaming

BACON!!!!!!

FEED ME BACON!!!

Now I have the task of convincing my head that the Protein shake taste better! Wish me luck.

If you kill him, I will bring a shovel & help a sister out. No jury would convict us. Lol.

RJ, you are taking away all the fun. No bacon, no gum and no soda!! Good Lord. That's 3 food groups!

Twins Mama, I haven't had gum even once and I've had enough gas come up from my stomach to full a Good Year blimp. So I don't know. As for the date, you should have gone. Maybe hubby will be a little more careful about ordering out in the future!!!

That's so darn funny.

OMG! You guys are so funny!

Thanks for the offer to help hide the body but if I did that then I'd have no one to take the trash out. lol.

No, MY husband is killing me! His insistence that we not have pork in the house means, you guessed it: NO BACON!

At least not the real stuff. There is this beef bacon out there (Facon) that cooks up darn close but it costs way more than the real stuff and while it's good and crisps up nicely and is almost the same...it's not the same.

Anyway, you don't really want that bacon. I mean, you think you do. But even if you could eat it, I bet you wouldn't even be able to get a whole slice down.

So, feel better. You might be denied bacon while on a post op diet, but I'm denied the porky, crispy, salty and smoky goodness as long as I'm married to my beloved husband!

Now that I'm reading this Bacon thread, I can see why my surgeon felt compelled to point out in his book, "Bacon is NOT a lean meat!"

I was like, no sh*t Sherlock but I see there's an underground upswell so to speak that I was missing.

Aaaandd now I want bacon. Thanks guys! :)

I was such a crab on my pre and post op diets, that my husband would have been locked out of the house with his bacon if he attempted that!! lol I do remember when I was on soft foods licking the popcorn at the movies because I wanted it so bad! My daughter thought I was crazy :P

You can thank Dr. Atkins for that. He got people thinking bacon and Pork rinds were health food.

Everybody knows pork rinds aren't healthy....except the BBQ flavored ones.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
