I am 2 weeks post op and I have this pain under my left breast where the largest incision is that is beyond frustrating. I was at Kohls yesterday and could hardly stand it hurt so bad. Every time I tried to tk a deep breath it would hurt! I can't walk yet because this is what happens! Anyone else experience this? And how long till it went away? My doctor says its normal because the is where he took the stomach out of and those muscles need time to heal !

one thing "we" all have in common, is that we're all different

i was lucky not to have any problems/pain during recovery :)

we all heal at our own rate

i'm sorry you are having pain issues :(

good you checked with your doc and he basically said not to worry

but - if it persists, i would keep in touch with the doc - maybe some pain medicine would help

saying this as nicely as i can

what the heck are you doing walking around at Kohl's et al??

listen to your body always - it will guide you

since you are feeling poorly - please stay at home

rest, rest, rest - don't go looking for sales yet

soon enough you'll be buying those smaller sized clothes :)

i hope other things are going ok???

drinking et al??

take care

feel better soon

good luck

kathy

I'm 6 days out and my road to recovery has been anything but smooth. I'm hitting every bump or should I say pot hole.... Unfortunately, I was one of those that had to have a hiatal hernia repair before my gastrectomy could be completed. I'm miserable. The chest discomfort and shortness of breath are really wearing me out. I don't feel worse since returning home, but I don't feel any better either. I would have thought that at day 6 I'd be gaining some strength and endurance, but I still feel weak and miserable.

As has been said, everyone heals differently and at their own pace. Continue to listen to your body, rest when needed, drink fluids, get Protein, etc. - your time for pain free enjoyment of the sleeve will come!

I was at Kohls getting school clothes for my daughter. I felt fine and my doctor wants me walking 30 mins a day so I thought do it shopping with her. It just hits me so fast and sucks. I still have pain killers left from after surgery so I took some when I got home.

Are you having pain when you take a deep breath? Cause I am too. I was sleeved 8 days ago.

On my left side everytime I take a deep breath my shoulder hurts and sometimes my back and under my rib cage. I called my surgeon earlier cause I thought oh dear left side shoulder pain do I have a leak? But he thinks I'm fine because i do not have a fever and I'm eating alright.

But doesn't it stink being in pain and having no idea what could be wrong with you. Hang in there I hope you feel better and everything is alright!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
