My first post here, been reading for months. Seems a lot of people posting are in the medical field. I thought it would be cool to hear what fellow sleevers do for a living.

The wife and I are both Respiratory Therapists here in Michigan. I am just starting this journey with my 8 hour information seminar ( pre-op ) scheduled for later this month. My better half was sleeved the end of April. She is doing awesome. Down 84 lbs total including the pre-op weight loss.

Im so excited to get my life back after getting this incredible weight loss tool.

I am a high school teacher working with at risk youths.

I have made it a requirement that all of my directs at the VP level go through Six Sigma and get at least a Green Belt. I find that it has greatly improved efficiencies in my division. I work for a financial firm in the fortune 40 and the company has really adopted the principles. It is. I left a five-year position at a fortune 500 company to do it and I am happy. I meet some interesting people for sure, from cancer survivors to prize fighters to housewives. It's great!

Many, many, many companies struggle during initial implementation, but if you hire or contract a Lean Six Sigma professional to develop a structured approach to implementation it should work.

1. Hire or contract a professional Black Belt or Master Black Belt to be in charge of the implementation of LSS

2. BB or MBB would Define an approach to implement

3. Launch Lean 6-Sigma training to train the masses - Some BB an MBB are certified trainers. (I'm certified to instruct Green Belt and Black Belt) classes

a. Introduction to Lean 6-Sigma

b. Green Belt certification programs

c. Black Belt certification programs

d. Introduction to Lean

4. Need buy-in from top management to get support from and most importantly buy-in from the masses

This should make implementing Lean Six Sigma successful.

Senior Management was skeptical at first but we won them over by successfully implementing Lean SS in our IT group, then moved onto investments, and then into different LOBs. I am a certified trainer but don't have he time to run a division and train, so I got of my team certified, who in turn trained others in several other LOBs. I told my fellow Managing Directors that they have to be responsible for their own groups and reach out to our Productivity group for help with their respective Lean training needs. Right now that group is fully staffed until another company poaches some more of our MBBs.

Good grief; that just sounds so soul-less. All about the bottom line. (Sorry. I'm a social worker. More of a people person, I guess)

I meant to say that is Wall Street and I've been doing it for over 20 years, the money, toys and power make it worth it.
