3. So in June I start the process I weighed 565 over the last 6 months I've gotten down to 490. Did a 4 week liquid diet, surgery was yesterday, they got in there and could not complete surgery. Feel like giving up. I want this but don't know if I can do it anymore.
4. super excised, can't believe the 30th is almost here, have to be at the hospital at 5:30 Monday. Did anyone have institutions of not drinking or eating anything red the day before surgery?
5. hw ~ 580 w 1st doc appt ~ 565 sw~ pre op cw~ 491
6. I have not started it and my surgeon and pcp felt that it would be best to wait til after surgery to start it, so that what I'm doing, i've lived with psoriasis this long, couple more months won't make a difference.
7. HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!
8. I went to my 1st support group, meet someone from this group, we have the same date and doctor, it's a crazy small world.
9. Well, hello everyone. Our group is so big, it's all so exciting! So I had a doctors appointment on the 21st and he is having me do a 4 week liquid diet, so on December 2 I start my preop diet of protein shakes, fat free broth, sf jello and popsicles and calorie free clear liquids.
10. Congratulations, my date is 12/30/13 also, super nervous as well. If your interested here's a link to a December sleevers group, people in all stages of the process. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/283805-december-2013-sleevers-come-in/
11. my BMI is over 50, but my doctor isn't having me do any pulmonary tests. Then it seems every doctor is different.
12. Welcome to the group, I understand being scared, I've never had surgery either, but everything is going to turn out great. Congratulations
13. I got my date!!!!!! December 30th!!!
14. I called my insurance yesterday and I'm approved, yeah!! exited and scared as I have not had any surgery of any kind, the most extensive thing I've had done was a pulled tooth. So I spoke with my doctors office and my date is going to be either 12/13 or 12/30, she's going to call me back after taking to the doctor.
15. yes, I too have 200+ to lose.
16. So I had my last NUT appointment until after surgery, she gave me all my pr-op and post of diet dos and don'ts. So once my date is official and I start my pre op diet I get to have 5-6 protein shakes per day depending on the brand I choose along with sugar-free gelatin and popsicles and broth. I also can have water, tea and coffee w/o sugar. My doctor said it will be 2-3 weeks long. I'm hoping if my date is the 16th that I don't have to start before thanks giving. What I find strange is that my doctor is having me do a 2 week clear liquid diet after surgery with no protein shakes just diluted juice, regular jello, popsicles and broth which I find strange.
17. Well I call the my insurance today, it's still pending, according to there records my doctor gave them December 16th as my surgery date, so I don't know if that's my date or if that's just a date they gave the insurance.
