  2. That's who my doctor is, I like him a lot.
  3. I am going through Cox hospital, your the first person from Springfield I've seen on here.
  4. congratulations and good luck! Cant wait to het a date and have it done.
  5. I struggle the most on the weekends. My funerals are 1st there is a place here in Springfield called Cody's and their ribeye steak ssandwich with homemade fries and my 2nd is Casey's pizza.
  6. it depends on your insurance as on the 6 month supervised diet, my insurance requires a 6 month, it can vary between 0-6 months. as far as the pre op liquid diet that depends on your doctor, some docs do some don't. my doc requires a 2-3 week liquid diet w/ only protein shakes and clear liquids such as broth, water, sugar free jello, sugarfree popsicles.
  7. You look so beautiful in your dress!
  8. thanks all, I'm feeling much better and when I have my next appt with my doctor I'm gonna clarify what he wants me be eating.
  9. what was her surgery weight, if you don't mined me asking?
  10. I weight 534, and I understand that I need to lose weight before being able to have surgery, my frustration is with him tell me one thing and the Nut another, on the eating plan and how much weight I need to lose.
  11. so I bought a spaghetti squash does anybody have a recipe.
  12. He said that before he could safely do the surgery, I needed to to lose some weight and when I ask how much he said that he was going by size of my stomach and not a certain number of pounds, but then the Nut said that he told her that it was 100lbs, but I have an appt with him in two weeks and will discuss it with him thin and just keep trying to lose weight, Thanks for listening.
  13. So I've just had my 2nd appt with the NUT and i'm very frustrated. When I saw the doctor said that he needed me to lose some weight. I ask how much and he said it was not that he wanted me to lose a set amount but it depended on the width of my stomach, but then he goes and tells the NUT something different that he needs me to lose 100lbs. I want this surgery very badly, I think that it will help, I don't see it as a fix all, but is it to much to ask for some consistency from the doctor and the Nut. He's telling me to cut out all carbs and she telling me and coaching me on a balance diet with good carbs.
  14. That's great, my insurance requires: 6 month Dr or Nut supervised diet and psychology evaluation.
  15. I started with a doctor that was at a center of excellence, but after talking to my insurance they will still cover it at a hospital that is not a center of excellence. I'm giving up the money that they put in my MRA acct. but not driving 3 1/2 hours one way to see the doctor or have the surgery, so I switched. My new doctor was able to request the records for the other doctors office and use the dietician appt for them.
  16. Well if I missunderstood your post the I sorry.
  17. First she did not ask for you give her permission to eat whatever she wanted and your first post was just judgement it was not helpful, there was no advice or suggestions that has helped you. I am very happy that this process has been so easy for you and that you never needed any support or advice or a safe place that you can voice your struggles without judgement.
  18. I'm still pre-op but what I've been told is not to use them in the beginning because it cause gas in your stomach and right after surgery you can already have gas from surgery.
