Has anybody taken Stelara for psoriasis and did you have to stop before surgery?

I haven't taken Stelara, but I do take Enbrel (Same family of drugs) and I had to stop several weeks before the surgery so to recover without an immunosuppressant in my body. You should call your doc and ask how soon before they want you off, and also when you can re-start. I was asked to wait to re-start until all incisions were well healed, which was 3 weeks after surgery.

I have not started it and my surgeon and pcp felt that it would be best to wait til after surgery to start it, so that what I'm doing, i've lived with psoriasis this long, couple more months won't make a difference.

I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis( yay me). I take remicade every 6 weeks. I had my infusion on Oct 23rd and surgery on Nov 19th. I had a few complications so not sure when I should have my next infusion.
