Has anyone else had an issue with Crystal Light?? I was doing great up until two days ago. All the sudden it's like my body turned against it and doesn't like it very much. I guess I just have to drink my Water with no flavor.

Yes, crystal light gives me acid if I have more then 1-2 Water bottles full. It is very acidic and a little hard on your stomach and esophagus.

We need to be drinking minimum 64 oz a day, but 120 oz is ideal. Try and drink as much as you can to stay hydrated and being well hydrated also helps with weight loss.

Over time, I found some alternatives which do not cause me irritation: Dasani Drops, propel and hiC flavors. All can be fund at the standard grocery stores like Safeway, albertsons and Fred Meyer. Infusing Water with slices of fruit, such as orange, lemon and lime, is also a very good alternative but does require more preparation above and beyond squirting drops in a bottle of water.

Whatever you choose, make sure it is something you can stick with day after day and month after month. You and water are in a relationship for the long haul. Good luck!

I can only do iced tea and raspberry flavored Crystal light.

I drink the more acidic things I enjoyed thinned with Water, usually about 50%. That's how I drink diet minute maid lemon aide now. And try Lipton diet green tea with citrus. It was one of the first flavored drinks I tolerated well.

I used to drink Crystal Light non stop but find I no longer like the taste. Don't know why but just can't stand it. I am using Mio and Publix brand. Seem to like these better. Funny how things change especially when you have a pantry full of something!

yes. I have problems with this sort of thing a lot. I buy a lot of food, drink stuff, and waste a lot and wasting is one of my hugest pet peeves. fiddleman is right, it can give me some reflux also. I do like the propel zero packets I have found in sam's club.

Oh and flavoring Water might not last forever. I just had some tap this morning without any flavor and found it OK just as is. I think drinking plain water is becoming easier over time (13 months post op). It was also interesting because I had a moment when I drank the tap water and thought "am I cured from having to flavor water?" I hope so! It would be nice to enjoy plain tap water again as I did before surgery.

The funny thing is I can drink plain Water if its freezing cold but only can tolerate room temp water if its flavored. My taste buds are more picky now.

Yes, I was the same way for a good part of the last 6 months. Just as I am no longer so cold at post op 13 months, room temp Water is also tasting better or should I say normal as I remember it from before surgery. Just something newer post ops may be able to look forward to.

I've been drinking crystal light with no problem. I actually get the individual packets or drops and mix it with Water. Hasn't caused me any issues & as helped me stay hydrated.

That's interesting about being cold. We are freezing and huddled under a comforter--and it's 78 degrees in the house. I told my husband by the time we save money on food, air conditioning in a Texas summer, not having to buy larger clothes, the surgery will have paid for itself in no time :)

We have always thinned ours with 50% Water. I'm also enjoying G2 right now. Doesn't seem acidic at all.

I'm freezing all the time too!!!! I just thought it was because my BP wasn't through the roof anymore. Fiddleman, you say we'll adjust to not being so cold eventually? I live 45 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico so I was actually enjoying not sweltering for once in my life. I might be sad if I adjust to "normal". LOL

Yes, I stopped being cold about 7 months post op. However, I suppose everyone is different.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
