Wow ...congrats on your great loss....gives us newbies alot of inspiration. I just had my surgery just over a week ago and I will say I'm happy with my 10 lbs gone so far. Keep up the good work and much more success to you and all other fellow banders out there.

WOW!!! Way to go. You must feel energized! That is a lot of exercise. I like the idea of the bike with tv. I need to do something like that. I currently walk 1/2 hour in the morning 5 days a week and do Curves 4-5 days a week.

One thing i miss..... baked potatoes with butter and sour cream.

One thing I think about when missing baked potatoes with butter and sour cream...Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.:clap2:

Hi Fellow Bandits!!

Need some help and advice. I was banded on 1/2/07 and feel very little restriction. My Doctor said I should be eating blended food. I have tried to stay with this but my appetite has come back with a vengeance! :hungry: I ate a can of Black eye peas and drank some crystal light tonight. My Doctor’s policy is not to give a fill the first month. I have been eating Campbell Chunky Soup and have no problems with. What can I do to curve my appetite? And Should I press my Doctor for a fill?

Thanks

Bandguy

Hey Bandguy, Stick in there, Lapband Hell only last a few weeks, I think you wait a month because of swelling from the surgery, dont sweat it man, you have the rest of your life to live banded, the time will pass and the fill will come, then the weight will come off, I know it is frustrating as hell to wait, but you dont want to do anything to screw this up either.

I would call my Dr. tomorrow and tell him whats going on, my guess is he will tell you its ok to do soft foods and in 2 weeks he will probably want to see you for your fill. If you dont lose any weight over the next couple weeks its ok, it will come off, I promise, maybe to counter the extra calories for the next 2 weeks, go out and walk a extra half mile that night, or go up and down the stairs 10 times, something a little extra to help the metablolism.

Just remember, its only a couple more weeks and you can do it, then its all the real foods again, just in smaller quantities, if you want to talk or just vent cause this thing is really pissing you off, e mail me and I will send you my cell number, ive been there man, I know it sucks at first.

good luck

Andy

Thanks for the info and kind words. Can you believe I am munching on some walnuts as I write this? I am waiting for the month to be over so I can see what a fill feels like. :clap2: I do workout at the health club so in a effort to curve this desire to eat. I am not sure how to email you, I am new to the fourm. Is it ok to post my email in this reply?

Robin, as far as the Gym goes, first, ask your Dr., mine told me, when I feel up to it, go for it, start slow and work into it, I waited about 7 days after surgery and started cardio, riding a bike, then at about 2 weeks, 2 and 1/2 weeks started with light weights and stayed with the really light weights for a while and just increased the reps.

Take it slow, any exercise is better then none, a body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest, stays at rest.

GOOD LUCK

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
