Egg Salad--yum

Recommended Posts

this is not about a new egg salad recipe, but that i just graduated to eating egg salad and it was better than ever and i enjoyed every bit of the tiny portion i could have. i have figured out that despite the perceived slowness of my eating i am still going much too fast and the sleeve is protesting so i am timing my tiny bites. tuna salad is next! then perhaps chicken salad.

Does anyone eat Peanut Butter in the pureed stage? i am tempted but it is so thick that i am not sure. i thought of warming it up so it would be a bit runnier.

I am a too-fast eater. And it is HARD to change. I did get baby spoons (really... I look SO cute) and it does help some.

I too struggle with eating too fast. Does it get any easier and is it forever the having to go slow? Curious.

I guess you have a good point there.

I learned to eat fast in Army Basic Training. If u didn't eat in 5 mins, u didn't eat. Was banded almost 4 yrs ago and was forced to slow down. But I persistently ate fast causing frquent vomiting and finally a slip. Since I've been sleeved, however, Im so scared of popping my staple line it takes 15 mins to eat 2oz of pea Soup.

Im 3 wks post op and looking forward adding creamy Peanut Butter next week for my soft food diet. I don't think its a full liquid and it slops up in ur stomach

For me at work sometimes I do not have time for lunch and eat on the way to a homevisit or at my desk. I will be returning soon on vacation time after medical and will be doing things differently.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
