I have messed up and I'm so annoyed with myself

I dump too. I haven't tried anything with sugar in it. But I dump with anything uncooked with milk, yogurt, and certain cheeses. Good to know I'm not alone in that. It feels like a slow death!

Twins, it doesn't sound like what you have is 'dumping'. It sounds like you're lactose intollerant. I haven't been sleeved yet, but I'm LI and I have the same problem if I eat something with dairy. And sometimes (very seldom) trace amounts of dairy are in my food and it doesn't bother me. But the very next time I eat the same food, I get really sick. I just avoid all dairy now. It stinks.

Yes, I agree I can no longer do lactose. But I also dump with other foods, just didn't list those because they are so random. For example I tried crab and literally had to lay down for 2 hours, had the sweats and a fever. I've tried crab (prepared differently) since then and was fine. I also had a mega dump with turkey lunch meat (which was my go-to).

In the beginning I couldn't eat any sugar or fat or I would dump. Now I can handle a little sugar (like 2 bites of cake on a special occasion) but the fat is still a no go. No vinaigrette dressing, anything cooked in a crock pot, full fat anything, fried foods are completely out. Kinda keeps me in check though.

It's funny you say that about the lunch meat, because it contains casein (almost all lunch meats contain this) and if you're LI, you can't tolerate casein either because it contains the same Proteins that are found in milk!

For the longest time I couldn't eat canned tuna because almost all canned tuna contains casein, but I found that Bumble Bee doesn't use this ingredient and I don't have a reaction when I eat it. I just avoid almost all lunch meat now. Almost all the Boar's Head meats are casein free so I eat those sometimes. :)

Wow, thank you for this! So glad you posted, you've taught me a bunch by this. Who knew lunch meat would contain a milk based product? That is really something.

You are very welcome! I've been dealing with LI for about 3 years now (I've only been aware that I have it for about 2 years). It sucks! And it seems like mine is pretty bad because I have friends who are LI and they can tolerate a lot of things I can't (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
