I'm 8/14 too, starting my liquid diet tomorrow and today I just want to go crazy with food but I can't because I get scared thinking of everything I want to eat lol.

My doc told me no pre-op diet except a light dinner the night before & nothing after midnight the day of surgery. Feels odd to me since everyone else is having to do "something" for their MD. Guess I am very lucky :)

Yea it what you like cause it will all be done with shortly! I am also on the 14th and I'm at the end of day 2 liquid only and although I'm not a big eater tonight has been rough, it's Friday no Alcohol beverages and no food. Trying to stay focused but yes ma'am enjoy. I wish you the best on your journey!

Today is day 4 for me, and I completely agree. I discovered that I could eat dill pickles yesterday and that has made things a little better. What shakes are you on?

Hi LI Gemini NY, I'm on the 14th as well in NY. Who's your doc and which Hosp?

Something about the 8/14 girls, don't feel odd I don't have to do the pre-op diet either...although I think I may do a liquid diet my last 2 days, not sure yet. I'm already mourning the things I love to eat.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
